Final Fantasy is always never the same, except for some things like Chocobos, Moogles, and the summons. You can have a new cast of characters come in with a new world to explore, but you can always expect to see Chocobos and maybe some forms of Moogles. Even the summons will go through a redesign that fits the theme and world of the new Final Fantasy game they are stepping into. Monsters, however, can vary. But Tonberry’s remain the same. These dastardly little devils may be cute, but they are even scarier than Sephiroth.

Defeat the Tonberry to get the Tonberry DMW
To get the Tonberry DMW, you will need to do a series of missions first before you can find the actual Tonberry you need to defeat. First off, you will need to defeat the Tonberry that is found in Mission 6-1-5: Buried in the Caverns to unlock Mission 10-2-1.
Once you have unlocked Mission 10-2-1, you will need to complete Mission 10-2-1 and 10-2-2 to unlock Mission 10-2-3, which is called Master Tonberry. Once you defeat the Tonberry found in Mission 10-2-3, you will get the Tonberry Knife item, which basically means you can now summon the Tonberry in your DMW.
