Most of your time and effort in Crystal of Atlan will be spent on trying to beef up your damage numbers as much as possible. This works differently for each class since they all function differently. For the most part, the major backbone of your build revolves around the character and gear you choose for them. However, circuits and insignia play a major role in further improving the damage and effects. So, in this guide, we’ll go over everything you need to know about circuits and insignia, so you know which ones to choose. With that said, let’s get into it!

Guide on Circuits & Insignia

It’s important to keep in mind that you need to use Circuits and Insignia to further enhance your builds in Crystal of Atlan. They are not there to actually change your build – which is the role of the equipment you choose.

So, make sure that your equipment does not clash with them. If you’re struggling to get the right gear, especially at higher levels – check out our equipment guide for lv55-60.

Understand Your Stats

Before you actually start messing around with circuits and insignia, it is essential that you actually know what stats your character has. You can do this by selecting the Attributes option in your Character menu.

Here, you’ll see all the different stats that your character currently has. You might find this quite overwhelming, which is why we recommend clicking on Details, so you can see what each stat represents.

Understanding your stats is crucial because your goal with insignia and circuits will be to enhance these stats – especially the ones that give you the most damage.

Additionally, you also want to pay special attention to your Elemental stats. Most players tend to ignore elemental damage, but it is actually pivotal. Unlike in other games, elemental damage acts like a damage multiplier in Crystal of Atlan.

For a more detailed breakdown of elemental damage, check out our how elemental damage works guide.

Circuits Explained

Circuits help you to further enhance stats so that you can deal more damage with your build. There are four types of circuits – with each targeting a main attribute or stat.

Here is a breakdown of the types of circuits in Crystal of Atlan, and the main attribute that they target:

  • Radiant Circuits
    • ATK
  • Time Circuits
    • Crit Rate
    • Crit DMG
    • ATK Speed
    • Cooldown Rate
  • Netherlight Circuits
    • Base HP
  • Stellar Circuits
    • Elemental DMG
    • Skill DMG
    • Basic Attack DMG

Depending on the rarity of Circuits, you can have up to four sub attributes. The Epic Circuits give you up to 4 sub attributes.

This is why you should only try to upgrade Epic Circuits. Other rarity ones like pink and below should never be upgraded as you’ll only be able to get 3 or below sub attributes.

You will unlock these sub attributes at different stages of upgrades. You will be able to see at what level they unlock.

Which Circuit To Choose

Now that you understand how circuits work in Crystal of Atlan, you may be wondering: which one should you actually choose? For that, we have a simple metric you can use to judge that.

To evaluate circuits, you should look at the four sub attributes that you can unlock. You’ll want at least three of the four sub attributes to enhance your character or class.

For example, if you’re using the Elementalist, you’ll want sub attributes that will help you boost elemental damage. On the other hand, if you’re a Berserker, you’ll be looking for stats that help increase your Physical ATK, Strength, Agility, Crit Rate, etc.

Of course, you’ll also need to ensure that the main attribute also actually benefits your class. But more than likely, you’ll be able to find multiple of these as most of the Epic Circuits are viable for different builds.

Once you have picked out a circuit, you can then focus on upgrading it all the way to the highest level so you can further enhance your build. Upgrading gets very expensive as you reach higher levels.

This is why we look at the sub attributes so you really know that you have a circuit that offers the most value.

If you’re still having trouble deciding, we recommend going for Time Circuits, since they target Crit Rates and Damages.

Go for the Crit DMG circuits at the early stages of the game, since it will be very low. Eventually, you can start transitioning towards Crit Rate circuits to get even more damage.

Of course, it will all depend on your build but Crit Rate circuits will always benefit most classes.

Insignias Explained

Like Circuits, Insignias are also used to further enhance the stats on your build. While they can enhance a variety of stats, your goal should be to always enhance your offensive stats to dish out more damage.

There are different types of Insignia that target a different gear on your character. Starting off, we have Weapon Insignias which can used to add elemental effects to your attacks.

You can certainly get Weapon Insignias that help boost other stats, but by the end game you really want to target an element. Otherwise, you’re just letting go of free damage.

So, you’ll want to select this Insignia depending on the element you actually want to go with. We recommend going with the element that has the highest Elemental DMG, so that you can maximize damage.

Of course, if you don’t want to go with elemental damage, you can use other types of Insignias that help boost your ATK or Crit Rates. Again, there is no straightforward answer as you should go for Insignias that will suit your build.

Typically increasing your Crit Rate (early game) and Crit DMG (late game) is a pretty safe bet for most builds.
