In the latest Cyberpunk 2077 update (2.2), CD Projekt Red didn’t just add car and character customization options, or photo mode features—they snuck in a fun surprise that fans of indie games will appreciate. The update brings an unexpected crossover with Balatro, the 2024 indie card game that’s already nominated for Game of the Year at this year’s Game Awards. But, like most hidden gems in Cyberpunk 2077, you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled to discover the quest tied to this indie darling.
If you’re just jumping back into Cyberpunk and want to dive into this quest, I’ve got you covered! In this guide, I’ll show you how to start the quest, track down all 10 hidden Joker cards scattered around Night City, and claim some cool rewards along the way!
Balatro Side Quest | All Joker Card Locations, Update 2.2
First off, the quest kicks off with a text message from a mysterious figure named Jim B. This is a nod to Balatro’s own clown mascot, Jimbo. The message will direct you on a treasure hunt across Night City, with cryptic photos and clues leading you to hidden Jimbo logos.
Once you’ve updated to Version 2.2, just keep playing and eventually, you’ll get the call from Jim B. You can try all sorts of things like sleeping, fast-traveling, or even standing still and waiting, but there doesn’t seem to be a surefire way to get him to reach out. Patience is key—he’ll contact you when the time’s right (I guess).
But here’s the catch: as of now, some players—including myself—haven’t received the message yet. Don’t worry, though! If you’re in the same boat, I’ve seen reports that it’s a bug. I tried riding around the city in my best V fashion to make the clown reach out, but no luck. I also checked the first logo location, but it didn’t appear unless the quest was triggered.
If you’re encountering the same issue, don’t worry—hang tight while CD Projekt Red irons out the bugs. In the meantime, if you’re eager to dive in, keep reading for the locations of all the Joker Cards!

Final Phone Call, Joker Shirt Location & Rewards
Once you’ve found all 10 cards, you’ll get a Final Phone Call that ties the whole quest together, giving you the full Balatro experience in Night City. And as if finding the Joker cards wasn’t enough fun, the quest also rewards you with a Joker Shirt for your collection.
After the call, you can pick up “The Joker of the Night” shirt on the floor where you picked up your 10th Joker Card. This shirt is a nod to the Balatro universe and is a great way to show off your dedication to the hunt.
After completing the quest, you’ll earn some seriously cool rewards once you return back to your apartment. You’ll get exclusive Balatro-themed cosmetics, including a trophy to display at your place, which adds a personal touch to your home in Night City. And of course, the satisfaction of having completed another hidden quest in Cyberpunk 2077!
