Dark and Darker is an extraction PvPvE game with a very steep learning curve, and there are a lot of resources and loot that you’ll need to gather in order to make your runs a little smoother. Gold ore is one such resource for crafting, but how can you get a lot of it in a short period of time? This guide will hopefully help you figure out the best path to farming it!
How to Easily Farm Lots of Gold Ore
First up, you will need to pick a class and build that you are the most comfortable using. This method will involve killing two bosses, so even with basic gear, using a class you’re good at and with the proper perks will help a lot.

Now, at the Goblin Cave map, you will have to make your way to the bosses in the highlighted parts of the map below. Your route will depend on your spawn location, so just pick whichever boss spot is closest to you first.
Troll Boss Fight
In order to beat the troll, which is found in the southeastern part of the map, all you really need to do is kite around it and take shots at it after it whiffs an attack. If you’re a rogue, try to initiate the fight from behind for some bonus damage.
For his underhand swings and one-handed attacks, all you have to do is continue strafing around it. Simply hold either A or D and go in for a quick attack while the troll recovers.
When he holds his weapon with both hands, you have to run away to avoid getting hit. Try not to run too far as this will trigger his charging attack.
His attacks are the same in both normal and high roller matches, as his additional move can be avoided just like his regular swings. Just stay mobile and watch out for follow up attacks after some of its missed attacks.
Cyclops Boss Fight
The Cyclops is the second boss that you will have to kill in this map, and it is significantly tankier than the previous one. It can be found in the northwest quadrant of the map, and it has more attacks to watch out for.

As with the previous boss, your tactics will vary depending on what class and gear you are using. With a faster character, you can very easily kite around this boss and avoid all damage.
He also has additional attacks in a high roller match, same as the troll from earlier. Again, check the guide linked above for more details.
Finding the Gold Ore Nodes
After both bosses are dead, whether by your hand or not, the locked door in their respective treasure rooms can now be opened. This will lead you to a room with more loot and some gold ore nodes.
With a pickaxe on hand, all you need to do at this point is look around and mine all of the gold ore that you can find on the ground, assuming they haven’t been taken yet.
The only thing to keep in mind that will affect your gains is that high roller matches will give you more ore per node. Because of this, you should be playing those to maximize your gold gains if you feel confident enough to run that mode.
