Dead Island 2: The Final Gauntlet Guide

You know what I always look forward to in zombie media? A sequence where the main character (or group of main characters), fights through a horde of zombies that are deemed impossible to defeat. Yet for some reason, they always prevail. It’s a dumb zombie media trope that a lot of people don’t like, but I do like seeing humanity being able to beat the impossible zombie odds.

In Dead Island 2, you get to do that with The Final Gauntlet mission. In this guide, we will show you how to complete The Final Gauntlet quest.

The Final Gauntlet Guide – Dead Island 2

Take the Final Section of Quarantine

When you start the mission, you will have to fight through a small horde or infected. Some are special, and some are normal. You will have to fight through them if you actually want to run the gauntlet.

This one is easy to beat, and your Fury Mode can easily beat them. But I would advise saving that until you actually run the gauntlet.

Fight Through the Horde and Kill them All

After defeating the first group of infected, you will now have to run through the gauntlet. The gauntlet is fairly easy, and you can literally just run through the gauntlet without having to deal with any zombies.

When you reach the other side of the bridge, you will then have to kill all of the infected. It’s much better to just run through the gauntlet and stand behind this group of barrels. These barrels will help you take down large groups of infected should they approach you.

There are also a couple of special infected that will approach you, so use your Fury Mode on them if you are surrounded.

Check in at the Serling Hotel

After clearing the gauntlet and its infected inhabitants, you will now be able to enter Ocean Avenue. Here, your next objective is to go to the Serling Hotel and enter the building.

Find Dr. Reed

Once inside the Sterling Hotel, you will need to head to the second floor and enter through these doors to find Dr. Reed. Just follow the objective marker and eventually, you will get a cutscene of a meeting with Dr. Reed.

He's also a huge fan of superhero media like Marvel and DC, so he's practically played games like Spider-Man and the Batman Arkham games. He's also into multiplayer games that strike his fancy, specifically games like Call of Duty and Fortnite. Most especially Fortnite since he can play as different Marvel and DC characters in a battle royale against other famous and iconic characters.
