Deepwoken is an intense and complex Roblox game that will gladly leave you to your own devices in order to “git gud” without holding your hand. One of the harsh realities of this game is that it can be really tough to hold your own in PVP encounters. In this guide, we will try to give you some tips to follow that will hopefully improve your chances of survival and success.
How to Master PVP Guide
First and probably the most obvious tip is to figure out which build you want to play. You need to get comfortable with your desired build, so find one that resonates with you the best.
If you are fairly new and are unfamiliar with crafting your own build, check out some of our other guides for help. This Arcwarder build or Silentheart build can be a great starting point!
Once you have a build, learn which abilities can make a great combo. This will require a ton of practice, but once you get used to your build, you will be chunking enemy HP bars in no time!
Getting Used to the Movement
Mastering basic mechanics such as movement can greatly impact your performance in PVP. There are a few tech moves to practice once you start getting the hang of the basics.
One such move is the Mantra roll, wherein you cast a mantra and immediately press Q to roll. This will allow you to do both actions at essentially the same time, making you a mobile threat.
Another thing you can do is canceling your rolls slightly before the animation ends. This will give you some i-frames (invincibility frames) without slowing you down too much like a normal dodge would.
Feinting
Feinting is basically the act of faking an attack or mantra cast by canceling the animation before it goes off. Certain builds benefit a lot from this mechanic, so you’ll have to figure out if it’s right for you.
Successfully doing this will help throw your enemy off and parry or block at the wrong times, leaving you an opening to hit them with an actual attack.
Closing Tip
Finally, always pay attention to what your enemy is doing at any given time. Learn what abilities they tend to spam and how they move around.
This will help you figure out a way to counter them with your own build. There is no set way to react to enemy players, as everyone has a unique build that works differently, so you need to be adaptable.
That is pretty much everything you need to know in order to get better at PVP in Deepwoken. Again, it is an incredibly complex game, and you basically just need to keep practicing, even if you end up losing a lot.
