Stats in video games have always been a great number’s game. Some people don’t even think twice and just look at the highest numbers and often times this is for the better. Stats in games are quite confusing for normal players and there’s a reason why more and more games are being streamlined and dumbed down. There are some games though that understands the importance of these stats being in their game, just like Destiny 2 with their different stats for their equipment. In this guide we’ll show you one of those stats which is Resilience.
What Does Resilience Do Exactly In Destiny 2?
Now before we go through what it does, there’s a total of six stats in the game, Mobility, Resilience, Recovery, Discipline, Intellect and Strength. The more you have these stats the better, with each 10 points of a stat being one tier. That means if you have 48 Resilience then you have tier 4. Just a reminder that all stats cap out at tier 10, that means if you have over 100 Resilience, the extra points don’t matter.
So, what’s important about Resilience? Well, in the game, it affects these things:
- Shield Hitpoints
- PvE Damage Resistance
- Flinch Resistance
- Titan barricade cooldown
- Well/Bubble Boss Damage Resistance
As you can see the most notable thing Resilience affects is shield hitpoints. In the game your HP and shields share the same bar, with the shield taking up 2/3 of the entire bar. Once that’s gone, you’ll be taking HP damage until your shield goes back up.
That means the more Resilience you have, the higher your survivability is. That means doubly so with the next thing it effects which is PvE Damage Resistance.
Now I may need to warn you, I will be showing a graph with numbers. That might scare some people so be warned. Below is a graph that shows what the different tiers of Resilience does to your character. As you can see beyond tier 4 the PvE damage resistance scales exponentially meaning that after that point the more resilience you get the bigger our resistance is in PvE. This makes it one of the most important stats in PvE gameplay.
That’s the basics of Resilience in Destiny 2. Congratulations you now know what it will do to your character. Now go out there and get as much as you can. Many thanks to Ms Elbone for showing the community her studies on the subject.
