With every little update in Dota 2, a whole lotta changes get introduced. With the newest 7.31b update, we get to see whole new heroes with their spells and even position changed.

That’s the case with Naga Siren too. It changed a lot, but with every change some stuff remain the same. For her case, it is the counter picks. Here we will discuss how to deal against these counterpicks. Lets go.

Patch 7.31b Best Naga Siren Build Against Counterpicks – Dota 2

The biggest change that can is introduced and can be felt in the new patch while playing Naga Siren is her Riptide. Now it triggers every 5 attacks on an enemy hit by Naga and her images. Some people experience it very badly, saying that Naga is grealy nerfed. Her Riptide now works like Abbadon, not like Slardar. You never proc Riptide anymore and it can really be felt in the early game. For example fighting and farming neutrals or creeps is much harder, and pushing lanes is much slower.

But still, if you ask any veteran Dota 2 player, they will tell you that Naga is still in the meta and still highly efficient when it comes to winning games. Let us go over the Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • Role versatility
  • Low cooldown root
  • Fast farmer with Radiance
  • Good at split pushing and wave cutting
  • Song of the Sirens can turn the tides in a losing battle

Cons:

  • Extremely farm dependent if played as carry, or even sometimes as support
  • She requires some basic and hard micromanaging skills
  • Easily miss usable ultimate in the wrong hands

Build:

If you want to counter anyone, first you need to have a good effective build. This is the classic, and it still works even with the latest update. This build is effectively a counter against anything that might come up against you.

Just play around with these items and everything should go smoothly. Of course you think for your self and the current situation that you find your self in.

This is my build i find myself going for. I have lots of wins with this.

This is how you level up your spells. Again – adapt to the current enemy team.

Bad againts:

  • Axe – he is the main counter for Naga. His whirling ability will get activated way more from Naga’s illusions. Just evade fighting him one on one. Try to catch him off guard and in big fights try to not finish him first, focus all your illusions on the low hp supports first
  • Batrider – he is a pain because he can ruin your ultimate, and keep running away with his flying ability. His oil and fire also will damage your illusions and destroy them. Just try purge him as fast as possible, get rid of his mana, possibly a stunner in your team will help.
  • EarthShaker – his ultimate and your illusions go like bread and butter. Just keep an eye out at all times when he is in the enemy team. Try to make him look like a fool and use his ultimate only on your illusions. Then you can just catch him, and kill him easily.
  • Lion – just make sure you catch him offguard and use his stuns on your illusions. He might destroy your illusions with mana drain or hex, but once that’s out of the way, he is done.
  • Outworld Destroyer – his ultimate will kill all your illusions. Nothing can be done about that, just make sure he panic activates it only on you and your illusions, so that your team won’t get hit.

Just follow the classic guide, and buy a Blink’s Dagger to be more mobile against these counters. Still, it is all up to your skill level how to adapt into these situations. Good luck!
