DREDGE: Flames of The Deep Guide

There are some quests in video games that are just down right difficult to do. Maybe you’ll need to fight a tough boss. Perhaps it’s a delivery mission that will crush your soul on how mundane it is. Or maybe the quest requires you to gather 100 feathers or something dumb like that. Whatever the case maybe we still do it because we don’t want to not finish what we started.

In Dredge there’s a lot of interesting quests you can do in this game. It’s surprising how much exploring and adventuring you can do while in a little fishing boat. In this guide we’ll show you how to do the Flames of the Deep quest.

Flames of The Deep Guide For DREDGE

At one point in Dredge, you’ll do the Flames of the Deep Pursuit. The pursuit needs you to light 3 statues at the start. There are 3 places where you can find the item to light the statues, one to the north, then northeast, then east. We’ll start with the Northern statue which is a bit tough to get to since there’s ruins in the way.

Once you get there though you’ll need to interact with it. It’ll ask for two malformed fish, writhing in the sun.

For this one I placed an Ossified Searobin and an Infernal Eel, both fish found in the many fishing spots in the area. Once you’ve given the two fish it’ll give you an Encrusted Talisman and a Fathomless Flame. You can then bring the Fathomless Flame to the Statues and light one of them.

Now let’s go with the eastern Shrine, this time it wants two heavily plated creatures, locked in battle. You’ll get a hint on what these creatures are based on the image it shows.

What you need is a Spider Crab and a Squat Lobster, both captured through the crab pot item. With those two items you can then give it to the Shrine and it’ll give you another Fathomless Flame as well as some valuables.

Now just go back to the statues and light another one and we’ll move to the Northeastern shrine. For the last Shrine it’ll want two Pale bottom-dwellers, hiding from their fate.

The two things you’ll need is a Ghost Shark and a Pale Skate. This will give you the last Fathomless Flame as well as some extra stuff. Now go and light the last statue.

The final step is to talk to Fanatic again and tell him that the Flames are lit. At the end you’ll get an Antique Pocket Watch, which you can then give to the collector. That’s the end of the quest!
