Dune Awakening features a massive open world multiplayer universe to explore that you share with other players. Since it’s primarily a survival game, you’ll more than often class with other players. This makes having a base really important. However, quite a few players struggle to pick a base that suits their needs and gives them an advantage. If you’re struggling with picking a location – we’ve got covered. In this guide, we’ll show you the best base locations for all types of materials and different stages of progression. Let’s get into it!

Top 5 BEST Base Locations

We’ll be looking at 5 base locations for all stages of the game: early game, mid game and late game. Additionally, we’ll also look at whether the bases are suitable for solo players or large guilds.

In this way, you’ll be able to find a base that suits your specific needs. Keep in mind that there is no base that will tick all the boxes – but you’ll be able to get majority of the resources.

You may be wondering what’s the point of these base locations since weekly storms will reset the map anyway. While this may change the locations of the resource nodes, it will not change the spawn region.

So, these bases will still be useful as you’ll be in resource defense areas.

Base Location #1 – Early Game Water Base

Our first base location can be found on the edge of Jabal Eifrit Al-gharb. You can find it just moving past the Western Vermillius Gap PvP zone, as shown on the map.

This location is ideal for small guilds or parties looking to make an early base. Starting off, you can find a mountain of primrose flowerfields, from which you can collect water from. Doing one run on all these flowers can get you about 50,000 ml of water.

This makes it one of the most flower dense areas in the entire game. Of course, you’ll need to have the Dew Reaper Mk2 unlocked at this point. Our how to make and use dew reaper guide has you covered – in case you don’t have it yet.

On top of that, you can also find lots of nodes with different resources – mostly copper and carbon. The only issue is that you won’t be able to get iron close by, so you’ll likely need to travel further or trade for that.

Finally, there are also a bunch of camps nearby that you can go to if you need extra blood. A spotlight also comes around the base which will be useful for farming XP.

To summarize, this base has the following resources:

  • Mountains of primrose flowers for water
  • Plenty of resource nodes – copper and carbon
  • Spotlight for farming XP
  • Camps to raid enemies and get blood

NOTE: Quite a few players rely on the primrose flowers here for water early on. By building a base here, it is possible for you to completely block off the flowers. While this is beneficial in PvP, you might get toxicity thrown your way as it will prevent other players from getting water.

So, keep that in mind when building your base here.

Base Location #2 – Big Clan Base Location (Most Resources)

The next base is arguably the best late game base that we’ve found so far in Dune Awakening. You can find it deep in the Eastern Shield Wall area towards the north. Here, you’ll want to set up the base on the cliff indicated.

This cliff is quite close to Imperial Testing Station No. 17.

This area is absolutely littered with nodes of a variety of different materials – including fuel, aluminum, copper, granite stone and carbon. Additionally, if you go to the mountains nearby, you can find even more nodes. It is probably the most resource dense area in Dune Awakening.

As a result, you could set up a whole guild or clan here and still not run out of resources. With so many resources around, you can easily do rotations around the area.

So, if this area is not already taken, we strongly encourage you to aim towards it as you approach the late game, even if you don’t have a clan.

The only issue with this area is the lack of iron nodes and water. Water will definitely be the biggest issue here as we were not able to find any primrose flowers.

If you’re struggling with iron, you can check out our how to farm iron guide – where we look at iron dense areas.

To summarize, this base location has the following resources:

  • Aluminum
  • Copper
  • Granite Stone
  • Carbon
  • Fuel Cells.

Base Location #3 – Mid Game Alloy Base

Our next base location is actually not far off from the first base we mentioned in this guide. It can also be found in Jabal Eifrit Al-janub right next to the Imperial Testing Station No. 76.

This area is full of plateaus that have all sorts of different resource nodes – including carbon, granite stone, aluminum and copper. You can also find plenty of these deposits on the ground as well.

Since these plateaus are flat, you can find one that does not have resources on it and build a base there. Alternatively, you can also build a base on the flat ground below.

The only issue is that you should have plenty of flying equipment so that you can actually go up to the plateaus. This is why this base is recommended for players who’ve progressed halfway through the game.

You can also find decent deposits of primrose flowerbeds for water – although not enough for farming. There are also NPC camps nearby where you can get blood from.

However, there is a lack of iron deposits near this base which is the only major problem. Besides that, you should be set!

To summarize, this base has the following resources:

  • Carbon
  • Copper
  • Aluminum
  • Granite Stone
  • Decent amount of primrose flowers for water
  • NPC camps to get blood

Base Location #4 – Cobalt Paste Farming

This next base location is only plentiful in one resource that you’ll need later on in Dune Awakening. You’ll be making your way to the Hagga Rift, where there is a huge trench running along the map.

Near a plateau, you’ll find a Bunker that has scores of Ethyrite Crystals.

This base does not have a good variety of resources, with only some decent deposits of copper, copper and salvage metal. However, there is one resources we’re only interested in Erythrite Crystals which can be found in a unique bunker.

As you progress through the game, you’ll eventually need to craft better items. These items will require Cobalt Paste that can only be made using Erythrite Crystals.

Since these are such an essential resource, you’ll find yourself coming to this location anyway. So, we recommend that you set up a base here so that you’ll have an easier time farming. It will make your progress towards the late game much smoother.

To summarize, here are the resources you can find in this base:

  • Plenty of Erythrite Crystals
  • Copper
  • Carbon
  • Salvaged Metal.

Base Location #5 – Carbon And Copper Ore Farming

Next up, we have one of the most complete and resource dense areas in the entirety of Dune Awakening. It’s a popular spot for many other players because of the insane amounts of copper and carbon you can find.

You can find this quite close to the Pallas Wreck, as you get into Jabal Eifrit Al-janub.

You’ll be able to find a ton of copper and carbon ore all around the area. Additionally, you can also find primrose flowerfields at different spots quite close by. This is why we suggest setting up at least an outpost so that you can fulfill your ore deposits.

On top of that, you can also find decent amounts of granite stone and fuel cells.

Additionally, there are also plenty of camps and facilities nearby. You can farm these to get extra water, intel points, XP and other resources to further enhance your progression.

This base is suitable for both early players and mid game players. Early players will start off building on the ground. Once you unlock flying, we recommend that you start building more upward for better resource access.

Again, the only real issue is iron, but with your other resources taken care of this won’t be too much of a hassle.

To summarize, this base offers the following resources:

  • Copper
  • Carbon
  • Primrose Flowers for dew collection
  • Granite Stone
  • Fuel Cells
  • Camps and facilities.

Just be aware that you’ll see plenty of other bases here because of the resource density. If you prefer to have privacy, then this base location might not be for you.

That’s everything you need to know for the top 5 base locations in Dune Awakening when it comes to resources. With bases in these locations, you’ll be able to progress faster as farming materials will become much more convenient. Additionally, you’ll also be able to progress at different stages of the game and ensure that all your needs are taken care of!
