Water really is the rarest resource found on the planet of Arrakis. It is so simple and necessary, but so hard and distant to find.

In this little guide, I shall try to explain to you the best way of getting Water and using it to your advantage. Let’s get started.

How To Get Water – Dune Spice Wars

Water is one of the 4 most required and necessary resources in Dune Spice Wars. Next to Spice, Solari, Plascrete, Water might be the number 1 required resource.

You will need to harvest and use Water for your own people and land, but also for your allies and to sustain their and your upkeep. To farm Water, you will have to construct Windtraps at different Village locations.

Water is not just necessary for upkeep and supply usage, but you can use it for trade as well. You can not trade it with other factions, but always have a trade road with Sietches. Improve their relation level to a 100, get ready for a lot of trading options and see your economy boom!

Windtraps

The only way to farm water in Arrakis, is by setting up Windtraps. They cost 3 Solari and Plascrete for upkeep. Very important thing is to set them up in the correct locations. You shall need to scan for the Wind Strenght in Villages, and find the best location for starting up a Windtrap.

For each level of Wind, it will produce +3 Water. You can even find Villages with a wind strength of 5. So just have use this to your advantage.

Water Extractor

Besides Windtraps, you can build this building in Special Regions. They gather ice and filter it into Water. While they have a higher upkeep, the return rate is fantastic! You will get around 50 Water easily from these.

At the beginning of a game, look for Special Regions and try to build one of these. It will make the game go much smoother.

Make sure that you keep an eye out for the Water Deficit. It can lead to huge political instability in your Villages, and even might start a full-on rebellion! So just keep an eye out, and make sure that farming water is your top priority.

I hope this helped. Good luck!
