Elden Ring: How To Restore Malenia’s Great Rune

Malenia created one of the first, hard roadblock that players of Elden Ring had to get over (took me around 20 tries). While the test of skill is very much welcomed, the great rune that she offers is definitely worth the payoff.

Like any other Great Rune, you would need to activate the power within using a divine tower in the vicinity that you can reach after beating her.  Read on to find out the best routes depending on how you progressed your story!

How To Restore Malenia’s Great Rune

Just like all the Demi-God bosses, Malenia will drop a Great Rune of her own once you defeat her and you’ll need to travel to the Isolated Divine Tower to unlock it.

NOTE: The gates of the tower will remain locked until you defeat her, so traveling there in advance doesn’t really give you an advantage unless you want to map out your route in advance.

There are two routes that you can take depending on whether you already burned the Erdtree or not

  • If you haven’t burned the tree, it’s a matter of just teleporting to the West Capital Rampart Site of Grace which makes the journey easier for you.
  • If you have burned the Erdtree, you can only get to the Divine Tower by activating the enchanted trap at the Tower of Return, south of the Weeping Peninsula.  It will directly teleport you to the Divine Bridge Site of Grace.

Once you get here, sneak past the Golem (or defeat it for more runes), and reach the left side to access the teleporter that will lead you to the Divine Tower itself.

Go through the gates and activate the rune once you reach the top!
