With dynamic Pastures, you can make your land in any shape that you like (within the confines of your overall land). This means you can also adjust space for farming and space for cows or other cattle according to your needs! Dynamic Pastures is hence a pretty useful tool for Farming Simulator 25.
Now, let’s see how it works.
How To Use Dynamic Pastures
We are no longer restricted to smaller standard-size squares and we can now change the size of our animal pastures to literally any shape we like, as mentioned, as long as it stays within our land’s territory.
In this guide we’ll cover:
- Basics
- Settling in animals
- More about Customization
We first start with the very basics.
The Basics
You can put down animal pastures through your build menu. If you’re on your PC, press left Shift + P to go into the build menu. Go to the menu with the cow icon, which is on the third option in line.
New farmers will typically start by buying the regular cow pasture which is the smallest pasture among them. Once you buy your pasture, you will be asked if you’d like to customize it. This is where you’ll be able to make your pasture bigger than the standard size.
Here, it’s all up to you and your creativity. You can make your pasture as wide or long as you like. The pasture can even take up an irregular shape which may come in handy if you’d like to utilize every corner of your land where the road starts.
The only downside is that it may cost more than the normal cost depending on the number of fences you use up to cover a certain amount of land. However, this feature is great because it allows for complete customization of your farm allowing you to better simulate a real-life farm experience.
Settling in your Animals
In the second pop-up, you’ll be asked if you want to plant some meadow. To this, you will press “Yes”. Planting meadows saves food resources as cows will end up eating the grass from the meadow instead.
Next, we will fill this cow pasture with animals. The smallest standard cow pasture will only fit 7 cows but with your free-hand customization, you can fit many more. The first tab from the screenshot allows you to buy your farm animals. If you go over to the second tab, you can have an overview of the animals you own, their productivity and food status, and the option to sell your currently owned animals.
If let’s say, you adjust a barn to hold up over 500 cows. The limit to how many cows you can buy at once is 250 cows (of any type).
Customization
Fortunately, the option to customize works across different animal pastures with the exclusion of some.
Customizable:
- Sheeps
- Pigs
- Horses
- Cows
Non-customizable:
- Chicken
- Bees
Aside from your typical cattle, you can also have a loyal friend to give you company. You can learn how to get a dog and include him as a part of your farm family.
Additionally, you can go to your build menu and build some gates through the option underneath the animal pasture tab.
When your pasture holds a large number of animals, for instance, let’s you purchase a barn that holds 115 cows. Once you buy enough cows to fill the barn, you may not see the actual number of cows walking around in your barn, especially if it’s a large number. That’s not to say they’re not there. The game will not display all 115 due to performance reasons.
Finally, while creating a large pasture, the game may take a moment to create the navigation mesh. In these cases, it’s important to be patient and wait a moment before you make the assumption that the game might have crashed and, as a result, restart the game.
And that covers all you need to know regarding dynamic pasturing in Farming Simulator 25. Let us know in the comments how many animals you have on your farm!
