When you are stranded in a forest area with nothing but trees around you it means that foraging will be your best friend. The Forager Shack will be your best friend for this activity but it is a little complicated and confusing at times. With this guide, we hope that we will clear some things out for you. Let’s get started.

How A Forager Shack Works – Farthest Frontier

First of all, you will need to build it. Once you built it you can left-click on it to see all the detail and information that comes with it. On the left side of the window that will open you can find the Work Radius. It is located here:

This can be clicked and then moved left and right, up and down. Simply look for the best position and location where it can be placed for the villagers to have the most amount of collectibles around the village. Usually, look for the most amount of herbs or trees around. You will get the most out of foraging from these areas. The farther away you place it the slower it will be.

Once you start moving the circle you can see the icons on the bottom. They will tell you what is in the area and what can be foraged from everything in that particular Circle Work zone.

You can also see different sets of icons everywhere you go with the Circle while the Forager Shack is opened. You can notice Fish, Herbs, Hawthorn, Hazelnut Bush, Stones, Mushrooms, and many many more. They are all items that can be harvested by simply foraging the environment.

You can also see what items were produced last year as well as the needs of the village right now. And, you can use that tracker of the needs to know what you need to be focusing on while being on the foraging activity.

You can set up more workers than one. Simply press on the Arrow up button next to it and they will increase the foraging supplies too. Also, Travel Time is very important. You can have the best foraging location. But if it is far away it will be a big penalty on the yield of things. So make it closer, or better yet, build the Foraging Station where you’ll expect for the best foraging area to be at.

It is as simple as that! You can use the Foraging Shack in every single game as it provides you with a lot of things you will need. It is a very cheap structure that will really get you through the game a lot. Now go on ahead and give it a try yourself!
