Make your neighbors jealous by increasing desirability.

Farthest Frontier How To Increase Desirability

While functionality is preferred over the cosmetic look of a structure, Farthest Frontier is actually able to mix together functionality and cosmetics into a gameplay mechanic in the form of Desirability. Desirability is a gameplay mechanic that is detrimental in the process of progressing the tiers of a building. If you have low desirability, you won’t be able to upgrade. With high enough desirability, you can upgrade. If you’re having troubles trying to upgrade certain buildings, but don’t know how, then this guide might be able to help you fix that issue. Let’s get started on how to increase desirability.

How To Increase Desirability – Farthest Frontier

One of the most common ways to increase desirability for your buildings, and we mentioned this in one of our other Farthest Frontier guides, is that you need to decorate. Yes, decorate the surrounding area of your building to make it look good.

The building by itself will never be able to accumulate enough desirability to upgrade, which is 30%. However, low level buildings can reach 30% desirability if you decorate around them. Put gardens, plazas, gazebos, anything that will increase the desirability of your building to 30% and above. Once you reach 30%, then you can upgrade.

But once you start upgrading buildings, decorating is no longer a viable approach to get desirability enough, as it is not enough. Instead, you can build service buildings like the School or the Market around houses. This also increases desirability of not only your home, but also the buildings as well. Upgrading buildings also works as a way to increase desirability as well. It is seen as the only way to do so once you reach a certain point.

A quick tip to increase desirability is to have buildings like the Fishing Shack or the Hunting Cabin far away from the houses. They will decrease desirability and will stay that way until they are moved far away from the houses. Make sure to keep them at a safe distance for your villagers. They are still vital for the village and the villagers itself.
