Passing is one of the most basic skills in FIFA 22 that has a very low skill floor and a high skill ceiling. A game can easily be swayed by a good or bad pass at the perfect or wrong time. In this guide, we’ll show you the different passes in the game.

Before we get into the more complex passes, we first have to go through the basics first. There are 3 basic passes that you need to learn. All of these passes branch off to slightly more complex ones later on so don’t skip on this.
Basic Passes

Complex Passes
Now that you know the basics, let’s branch out to the other passes. Here are the more complex ones and some tips on when to use them.
Lofted Ground Pass

A good pass to use when trying to go through auto-block. A simple pass like this can also be used to chain into a shot with the right setup and timing.
Pass and Go

When you do this pass, the player you start the pass with will start running and they won’t stop. It can be a good aggressive pass specially behind the defense but be warned that he will continue running.
Driven Throw

A pass with more of a kick to it. High speed and high-power pass great for players with great passing stats can really shine with this pass.
2nd Kick Taker Layoff Pass

A very stylish pass and a good way to style on your opponent this pass works well with players with the “Flair” trait. A good pass if you want to surprise them.
Lofted Through Pass

A pass with some air time, great when trying to go through an opponent’s auto-block.
Lobbed Through Pass

High and Slow, timing is important with this pass and a great way to get pass the opponent’s defense.
Improved Lobbed Pass

A fairly new pass in the game. It’s a more accurate version of the Lobbed Through Pass, hence the name.
Driven Lobbed Through Pass

A good accurate long-range pass, don’t be afraid to use it for really long passes.
Driven Lobbed Through Pass

A quicker and lower variant of the Lobbed Through Pass. Great for passing to your wingers.
Finesse Shot

Another good pass to your wingers but susceptible to blocks.
Chip Shot

A good pass if you’re aiming for a tall player, also works well with a header goal.
Low Shot/Downward Header

| PlayStation | L1 + R1 + O |
Another good pass to chain to a header goal. Be careful of blocks.
