In Genshin Impact’s new update 5.2, there are brand new locations to explore. New locations means that you can get your hands on more Sanctifying Elixirs in the game. Using this, you will be able to define artifact stats, which can be useful for builds.
But how exactly are you supposed to get your hands on Sanctifying elixirs in the new update? Not to worry, we have you covered. In this guide, we’ll show you three ways in which you can get it. Let’s get into it!
All 5.2 Sanctifying Elixir Locations
There are three ways to get Sanctifying Elixirs in Genshin Impact 5.2. They are the following:
- Unlocking the treasure trove with the Crimson Obsidian Ring
- Unlocking the treasure trove with the Purple Obsidian Ring
- Extracting elixir from Artifacts using the Artifact Transmuter.
All of these are kind of related to each other, so we recommend that you go through all of them one by one. Now let’s see the steps you need to complete for each location and method.
Method #1 – Using Crimson Obsidian Ring
The first method involves crafting the Crimson Obsidian Ring and using it in a secret location in the Natlan region of Genshin Impact. We cover all of it in our how to use crimson obsidian ring guide.
To craft the Crimson Obsidian Ring, you’ll first need to get your hands on Crimson Obsidian Fragments. You can farm these fragments by looting Luxurious and Precious chests in the Quahuacan Cliff area of Genshin Impact.
There is a random chance to get these fragments from the chests, and we are not sure about the exact odds.
To be able to craft the Crimson Obsidian Ring, you will need to collect x3 Crimson Obsidian Fragments. It’s likely you’ll already have some fragments if you’ve been playing the new update and exploring the area.
Once you have the required amount, hit the Craft option and you’ll have obtained the ring!
To use the Crimson Obsidian Ring, you’ll need to head to the right location. Start by going to the location marked below in Flower Feather Clan.
You’ll see a bunch of NPCs here at the top. From here, you want to jump from the platform, near a couple of NPCs talking. After that, glide ahead to the ground.
As you do so, turn around and you should see a hidden cave with a translucent barrier on it.
Approach the barrier and you’ll be able to interact with it. Select the Activate button and you’ll be able to use the Crimson Obsidian Ring on it. Doing so will remove the barrier.
Going inside will give you access to all kinds of treasures that you can loot. These are mostly really valuable 5 star artifacts that you can consider adding to your build.
You should also be able to spot the first Sanctifying Elixir here, ready for you to loot too! Be sure to hold onto the Artifacts as they will help with the third method.
Method #2 – Using Purple Obsidian Ring
For the next Sanctifying Elixir location, you’ll need to get your hands on the Purple Obsidian Ring and use it at a hidden treasure trove too. Our how to use purple obsidian ring guide can help you out here too.
As before, you’ll need to get Purple Obsidian Fragments to be able to craft the ring. These fragments can be obtained by farming luxurious and precious chests in the Tezcatepetonco Range area of Genshin Impact.
We aren’t sure of the exact odds of you getting the fragments, and as far as we know, it is a random chance.
You’ll need x3 Purple Obsidian Fragments to be able to craft the Purple Obsidian Ring. Check out inventory as it is possible you already have some if you’ve been playing through the new update.
Once you have them, simply click the Craft option at the bottom. Doing so will get you the ring.
Now that you have the Purple Obsidian Ring, it is time to use it in the correct spot. The secret area you’re looking for can be accessed by going to the location shown on the map below.
Luckily, there is a Teleport already here just Southeast of the Masters of the Night Wind location.
From here, just go on straight and jump from the cliff shown below. After that glide down ahead, and immediately turn the camera around.
You should be able to spot the secret tribe cave where there is a bunch of treasure. It will be blocked off by a translucent barrier.
Approach this barrier and select the Activate option. This will allow you to use the Purple Obsidian Ring. Once that’s done, you’ll be able to pass through into the treasure trove.
Here, you can loot a bunch of 5 star artifacts, plenty of which provide some serious stat boosts! Be sure to hold onto these as they will help you with the next method.

Method #3 – Using Artifact Transmuter
For the final method of obtaining Sanctifying Elixir, you’ll be using the Artifact Transmuter. To do this, go into the Artifact Extraction menu in Genshin Impact.
Here, you’ll be able to see all the 5 star artifacts that you have, including the ones you obtained from the treasure troves.
To begin the extraction process, you’ll need to select artifacts to consume. Depending on their levels, the Extraction Progress meter will rise.
Select the ones you don’t need or you feel are worth consuming. Just try to get the Extraction Progress to +100.
Once the progress level has hit 100, you can now extract the Sanctifying Elixir. Hit the Extract button at the bottom and Confirm your selection. Doing so will allow you to get the third and final Sanctifying Elixir in update 5.2.
Keep in mind that you can only do this process once every update. The cycle is reset after every update, so you’ll need to wait if you want to do this process again.
