For the Children of the Past is the second to last quest that you’ll be doing before you get to the last Boss Fight. It is an interesting quest where you’ll be going deep underground and with the help of Arama, you will be investigating and unraveling the background of this whole area. Let’s see how you can pass it without an issue.

For the Children of the Past Guide – Genshin Impact

Inscription of Remembrance

You will have to this highlighted position on the very left of the entire map. It will be should to Fane of Ashvattha. Once you get to the correct position you’ll begin the quest by going over a short cutscene.

The objective here will be simple. You will get a green circle to follow. Follow it and it will take you to places you’ll need to be. That will be Arama and he will take you from one place to another.

You will go to the first little hut where you’ll find the first Inscription. Then you will follow him some more. He will take you to a small village. Then at the end, you will go up some stairs that were built a long time ago.

Whenever you discover a new location with Arama, be prepared to deal with multiple enemies. Just clear everything that will come your way and you’ll be good to go.

Once you passed a long walking time, you will get to an area where there will be a Seal. This is what it will look like.

There will be a cutscene here too. You will have to jump inside this big hole that you’ll be seeing. Make sure to glide so you won’t die out of fall damage of course!

Once you get to the bottom of this hole the same objective will still be valid. Following Arama and his little green circle around him. Defeat all the enemies that will come your way again and you will reach a certain point where you will have to destroy the Withering Area.

Be careful this time because there will be lots of big enemies coming your way. Once you kill the big enemies you will be looking for this structure here. It will be on the left side of this mini-desert.

Interact with it and you’ll have to do the Music Challenge. Just enter the same notes as shown above on the title page.

Then once you have played them all, you will need to play them again in the same order without the notes showing on the screen.

Try To Lift The Seal 0/7

After you’ve done that you will have to Lift the Seal a total of 7 times. These Seals will be all around the place and you’ll have to go looking for them. The Seals are the totems that are all around the place.

You will have to switch over to Amber and then proceed to boost up your arrow all the way to the maximum and hit these totems with it. Only 1 shot will be enough because they will take periodic damage.

Stay inside the highlighted circle on the mini-map and go on the lookout for these totems. To get all of them you will have to go through another Music Challenge to get inside a cave. You will find the last 3 totems over there.

For the last one, you will shoot these floating objects while buffed up with the Healthy Dendrogranum. Charge up your arrow and shoot at all of them.

Once you’ve collected and destroyed all the 7 Seals go back into the middle of the mini-desert and talk to Arama again.

Defeat the Ruin Machine

There will be a very long cutscene now. Once it is finished you will be stuck with a very big mechanical monster to deal with. The goal is to kill it.

You can go around it and light all the totems with the Candle of Fire. once you’ve done that, go back to the Ruin Machine and just keep damaging him until he goes down.

After he is dead you will be thrown down into a small lake under you.

Investigate the Area

Here you will want to go around the lake and just Investigate the Murals on the walls.

Then go to the small hut next to the lake. Then to the Books near the lake too. And last of all the Sign that is next to the small hut. After this, you will look for Arama to talk to it again. There will be a long-talking cutscene now.

Leave Aramuhukunda’s Home – For the Children of the Past Quest

You will have found out who lived here and everything connected to it. The last objective of this quest will be to leave this entire cave and area.

You will be following the waypoints that you’ll get now and eventually you will leave this area.

Congratulations on passing For the Children of the Past quest! This is the second to last quest so the next one will be your boss fight! Make sure to check out our guide for it to help you out in the link below. Good luck!
