We all saw Kratos in God of War 2018 start as a man who is still haunted by his past. As the journey of the game began, we began to see his character develop until the ending, where Kratos accepted who he is, finally free of the clutches of his past. With renewed sense of purpose, Kratos freely uses the Blades of Chaos, once a symbol of his imprisonment as a slave to the Greek Gods, now tools to help him and his family. But they’re not enough, as they need more power with the help of Heavy Runic Attacks.
Blades Of Chaos Heavy Runic Attacks Tier List – God of War Ragnarök
Heavy Runic Attacks Tier List
Just like the Light Runic Attacks, the Blades of Chaos have 5 Heavy Runic Attacks. All of which differ attack patterns and damage. However, since there is only one slot available, you must choose one out of five Runic Attacks to use. Luckily, we have a list here that shows the worst Runic Attack, to the best.
5. Tartarus Rage
This is a classic move from the original games, as Kratos will slam the Blades of Chaos down on the ground twice, sending any enemy who were unlucky to get caught in the zone to be launched up in the air. You can then combo the enemies up in the air, essentially juggling them.
While the damage is good, the animation takes a long time to complete. If you aren’t hitting any enemy, then you will be leaving yourself completely open to enemy attacks. This will do more hurt than good if you don’t time it well.
4. Nemean Crush
This Heavy Runic Attack is a pretty great attack to have when you want to make a quick move. The Nemean Crush is Kratos slamming the two blades together in front of him, creating a large explosion that blows any enemy in front of him. However, despite the Damage stat being high, it does not feel like it does a lot of damage.
Compared to Light Runic Attacks like Cyclone of Chaos, where Kratos will attack repeatedly, the Nemean Crush needs to hit its enemy directly. Otherwise, the only damage the enemy will get is from the splash damage form the explosion, and those are pretty weak.
3. Meteoric Slam
When you’re surrounded by enemies, you should definitely use Meteoric Slam. Kratos pretty much summons meteors that falls to the ground and hit enemies randomly. This is especially great as it is a passive AoE attack, meaning you can trigger it and attack other enemies while the meteors fall down.
However, this does the least amount of damage to the enemies. It’s only great for when you want to stop enemies from attacking you.
2. Atlas Eruption
The Atlas Eruption is another callback to the Greek Saga. Kratos will repeatedly slam the blades into the ground (if you keep pressing the button, the more he slams it) which creates a lot of explosions that blows enemies away from you. It’s a pretty good move to have when you’re surrounded, but it does leave you open to attacks if the enemy is able to time it right and attack you while you’re still slamming.
1. Tame the Beast
Kratos unleashes his anger by repeatedly slamming the blades in front of him. This is an incredibly powerful move that can take out enemies if you manage to hit them repeatedly without fail. However, this attack, like many others in this list, leaves you open. It is only high up because it’s the most powerful and damaging attack the Blades of Chaos have to offer.
