If there’s one thing that will never leave Kratos in any of the God of War games, it’s the chained blades that he wields. Whether it’s the Blades of Exile, Blades of Athena, or Blades of Chaos, Kratos will always have some sort of chained weapon at his disposal. In God of War 2018, we saw their much anticipated return, as well as Kratos’ acceptance of these weapons. In Ragnarök, Kratos must use these weapons in order to face the journey ahead. But what are the best Light Runic Attacks for them?
Blades Of Chaos Light Runic Attacks Tier List – God of War Ragnarök
Light Runic Attacks Tier List
Your Blades of Chaos have 5 Light Runic Attacks available to use, but just like your Leviathan Axe, you can only use one of them. However, since there are 5 of them, it’s hard to choose which one is the best option out of them. Not to worry, because we have a solution to your problem, and that is with the help of this tier list.
5. Helios Flare
Remember your good ole pal, Helios? Kratos’ former head companion? Except he didn’t speak most of the time and was screaming whenever you used him as well. Well he gets a reference with a move called the Helios Flare, which shoots out a bolt of fire that flies forward until it hits something.
However, it’s not a very good move. Besides the pushback to the enemies, the Helios Flare does little damage and is mostly just a range attack. But even then, the Leviathan Axe is a much better range weapon than the Helios Flare.
4. Hades Retribution
This attack is pretty much using an enemy as a living grenade. What the attack does is that Kratos will stab the enemy in front of him and leave a bomb that is stuck in the enemy. Using this move is pretty much mostly for crowd control, or doing damage against a large group of enemies. However, it’s not very powerful.
3. Flames of Anguish
The Flames of Anguish is a quick move to use when you need to start a combo. Kratos will throw an enemy up in to the air and burn them a little. With the enemy up in the air, you can then perform combos to juggle said enemy, pretty much making them stay up in the air until your combo ends.
The move doesn’t do a lot of damage, and it mostly serves as a combo starter or extender. Still, if you plan on performing said combo starters or extenders, then this move can definitely help do that.
2. Rampage of The Furies
Since the Blade of Chaos is from Kratos’ time in Greece, of course there will be some references to the old mythology. Rampage of The Furies is a reference to the Furies, which Kratos has also killed. Here, Kratos will perform a combo that will damage the enemy (or enemies, if they are close together).
While it does offer great damage, the animation is too long, and even longer if upgraded, which leaves you open to enemy attacks.
1. Cyclone of Chaos
A hit classic from the original games. The Cyclone of Chaos is one of Kratos’ signature moves when playing the old games. Similar to the original, Kratos will spin the Blades of Chaos around him, effectively creating a “cyclone” that damages and stuns anyone that comes into contact with the blades.
While the stun is great, the damage isn’t that great. However, it is a great Runic Attack to have as it can easily get you out of sticky situations, all the while damaging anyone that’s near you. Granted it isn’t a lot of damage, but the area of effect is something that should not be easily dismissed.
