Vanaheim is the seventh Realm in God of War Ragnarok. This area was first teased in God of War 2018 but due to time constraints, the developers decided to exclude it in the first part, and introduce the Realm in God of War Ragnarok.
The Green forest home of the Vanir is one of the main realms that Kratos treks in God of War Ragnarok. This is also the home of Dragons in the game which Kratos will have to fight in the Burning Skies Favor.
In this guide, we will be showing you how to activate the dragon sub-quest and make your way into the Dragon Lair in God of War Ragnarok.
Guide to The Dragon Lair Location and Burning Skies Favor in God of War Ragnarok
The quest activates once you enter the Sinkholes in Vanaheim. It starts when Kratos and his party feel tremors in the place. Your companions say that Vanaheim did not have tremors before and Kratos goes to investigate the source of the tremors.
This activates the Quaking Hollow Favor which is tied to the Burning Skies later on.
The Quaking Hollow
Head deeper into the Cave while using your spear to detonate walls and create a path forward. Eventually, you will end up in a clearing where dragons are nesting on the old pillar ruins of the area.
Clear out the Dragon
With the source of the tremors located, clear out the dragon from the ruins. Do this by throwing your spear on the Gold illuminated cracks of the pillars and detonating them.
The dragon will retaliate by breathing fire but it causes minimal damage so shrug it off and break the two pillars where it nests.
Dragon Lair Location
Finding the Dragon’s Lair is pretty straightforward. Locate the gate mechanisms and operate them to open up the waterway grab the canoe and paddle your way deeper into the area by moving through the canal.
Further in, there will be another waterway that will be blocked. Dock on the nearby port and make your way to the gate mechanism and unlock that as well.
Head back down and move deeper into the canal until you are in an open area where your Companion will tell you to beach the canoe. The place where you leave your canoe will be the foot of the dragon’s Lair.
The Ash Tyrant
Create a path to the top of the Lair. You will be using your Spear most of the way up to detonate walls and create a path. Once you reach the top, you will be the Ash Tyrant, the dragon you faced earlier in the area.
Get in close and do as much damage as possible. Eventually, the Dragon will retreat and try to damage you with its fire attacks from afar.
Neutralise His Range Attacks
When that happens, use your spear and break his perch to force him to fight on the ground. When you break the second to the last stone column he perches on, another dragon will charge you and join the fight.
Defeat Minions
Defeat the new dragon first before focusing back on the Ash Tyrant. When you break his last stone pillar, he will come down and face you.
Defeating the Ash Tyrant will grant you experience points as well as complete the Burning Skies Favor.
