Guts & Blackpowder is a brand-new survival horror game that you can play on Roblox. The game involves groups of players fighting against zombies in the Napoleonic Wars. The game features multiple classes with unique skills that you can try out.

This guide, in particular, will focus on the Chaplain Class, which is primarily a support class. We will go into detail with regard to the weapons you can use as well as the abilities that this class has.

Chaplain Class Guide

Each section of the guide will focus on a certain aspect of the class in detail, so you’ll be aware on how to unlock the class and utilize it effectively. Let’s take a closer look!

How to Unlock Chaplain Class

To select classes in the game, you need to press the M button and choose from the available regiments. This class can be found under the Specialists sub-menu and will be the option on the right.

However, you cannot play as this class until you get the Soldier’s Grace badge. This badge requires you to do the following:

  • Save 150 Teammates from being grabbed.
  • Additionally, you have to kill 75 runners that are pinning your teammate.
  • You need to heal your teammates 50 times as a Surgeon.
  • Lastly, you need the Vos Enterrement badge, which you can get by sacrificing yourself on the San Sebastian map.

Chaplain Abilities – Blessing

To start off, we have the Blessing Skill, which allows Chaplain users to cure anyone who is infected. As shown in the image below, the targeted person will be highlighted, and once you use the skill, your teammate will be cured.

A common misconception is that when Surgeons heal, they also cure someone of infection. This is not true since only Chaplains can carry this out.

NOTE: The Chaplain is not able to use the Blessing skill on itself.

Chaplain Weapons & Items

Crucifix

This is a very useful item since using it allows Chaplain users to essentially ward off zombies. As shown in the image below, using it causes zombies to not come close to the player. A unique animation plays where they raise their arms as if they are hurt by the Crucifix.

Using Crucifix

The Crucifix does regenerate passively, so you do not have to worry about losing it after using it. One mistake that new players make is that they put the Crucifix away after using it. This will cause the zombies to instantly aggravate you.

Hence, do not keep the Crucifix away after using it. Instead, just keep it in your hand to make sure that you stay alive.

Moreover, using the Crucifix also allows you to save someone who is being grabbed. However, this does not work on Runners, so use it with caution.

Stake Weapon

Chaplains have access to the Stake weapon, which is very good for close-quarters combat. This weapon has the highest swing rate out of all the weapons in the game. However, this results in it having the lowest damage among all the in-game weapons.

When playing on normal campaign maps, this weapon will take two hits to kill zombies. However, in Endless mode, you will start with the Stake killing enemies in one hit. This will change in subsequent waves as the zombies get stronger.

NOTE: The Stake does not one-shot Runners. With that said, don’t even try kiting with this class.
