The update is massive, and there’s a lot of content to explore, like new badges and even a new boss, which means more challenges for us! Sleepy Hallow Guide | “For Whom The Bell Tolls”

In order to get the “For Whom The Bell Tolls” badge, you’ll have to complete the new secret map called Sleepy Hallow.

Well, it’s secret because it can’t be accessed from the map selection menu like any other map in the game. This is also the first map in the game to feature a boss, which is pretty cool. Now, let’s take a closer look.

How to Reach Sleepy Hollow

To access Sleepy Hollow, you won’t find it as a random map selection. Instead, you need to grab a purple bottle located above where all the runners spawn in the first section of the Leipzig map.

Once someone grabs this bottle, one person just needs to escape the map. It doesn’t have to be the person who grabbed the bottle. If at least one person escapes, the Sleepy Hollow map will activate.

How to Beat Headless Horseman Boss

Now, the Sleepy Hollow map can be challenging. It’s essential to have a strong team. When you enter Sleepy Hollow, you can only choose the US Marine Corps Regiment.

I recommend picking a class that uses a gun like the Blunderbuss or the Musket since you’ll need ranged attacks to defeat the Headless Horseman, the boss of this map.

The map gives you some time to find a good spot to hide. I suggest heading to the docks because, at times, zombies will spawn from the graves when the Headless Horseman commands them to “arise.” These zombies are called Shamblers, so no worries about other special zombies.

The Headless Horseman has 1000 HP and three attack patterns:

  • Running you over (25% damage to your HP)
  • Throwing a pumpkin (50% damage to your HP)
  • An instant kill where he slices your head off

Avoid him and shoot the person riding the horse as much as possible. It takes a good amount of shots to defeat him. Also, some players have reported that it takes 10 Musket Shots to kill the boss.

Moreover, some tips you can use is that you can circle around the boss to avoid him, as he doesn’t turn well. It’s also ideal if all members of your team are Musket to take out the boss more quickly.

Barricades aren’t very effective against the boss, but they help when dealing with the zombie horde that spawns.

NOTE: There’s a cheese that you can do if you don’t want to go through the challenge. In order to do that, stand right in the middle of the gate entrance near the dock.

While everyone else will position in the dock. If he’s targeting you, the Headless Horseman will legit just get stuck and spin around in circles.

“For Whom The Bell Tolls” Badge and Jack-O’-Lantern

Once you defeat him, you’ll earn the “For Whom the Bell Tolls” badge and a reward, the Jack-o’-Lantern.

You can equip it in the shop under the utility section of any class (L button for PC) and on your 3rd item slot. It provides permanent source of light for your team, which is nice, I guess?

But hey, what matters most is that it basically shows that you’ve beaten the challenging Sleepy Hallow map! “May be cursed” though.
