In your journey of becoming a strong wizard in Hogwarts Legacy, you have full control and authority to customize your character. In other words, you can create your own character build.

As you create your build, you will have to tweak a lot of stuff in the game such as your gear, traits, and spells. This makes your character more personal and close to your own preferences.

That said, if you want to become the ultimate wizard, then this build guide will show you which choices you should make.

In your pursuit of becoming the best wizard, you must not only know how to perfectly cast spells and understand how combat works in the game. There are also some other things that you have to put your mind into thinking about to significantly improve your player stats.

Your talents, gear, traits, spells, and potions are those that you need to take into account every time. This way, you can min-max your build and make it as powerful as possible.

Let’s get started.

Talents

Talents in Hogwarts Legacy refers to your mastery of using skills from different aspects. Having upgraded Talent skill trees allows you to improve your spells.

This is divided into five different categories: Spells, Dark Arts, Core, Stealth, and Room of Requirement.

You can level them up using Talent points, and the first 15 points you use will greatly change the way you play the game.

The first three points must be spent on your Core. For this one, prioritize unlocking Spell Knowledge 1 and 2 as well as the Swift move.

For the Spells, unlock both Confringo Mastery and Incendio Mastery.

Then, go to the Dark Arts category to unlock Blood Curse, Knockback Curse, Enduring Curse, and Stunning Curse.

After you level up and get more talent points, you can now decide for yourself which talents you want to further improve.

Gear

Gear in Hogwarts Legacy refers to the clothes and accessories that you equip your character. You can say that this is the costume you want your character to wear, but instead of just the style, your gear also provides additional stats to your character.

There are six different gears that you can equip. These are handwear, face wear, headwear, neckwear, cloaks and robes, and your outfit.

You will know that a specific gear is good for you if there is a green arrow indicated on the upper right corner of your screen. Otherwise, the red arrow is a sign that it only lowers your stats.

What you can do with these items with the red arrow is to sell them to vendors. But if you don’t want to sell them, you can choose to upgrade them in the Enchanted Loom in the Room of Requirement.

Traits

Traits are the passive abilities that you unlock to enhance your character’s overall abilities. You can upgrade your traits by interacting with the Enchanted Loom and looking for the gear that you want to improve.

After you select the gear to upgrade, all the traits that you can use will appear as well. Here, you can pick the traits that you want to prioritize depending on which one you need the most.

Spells

To follow the Dumbledore set, the spells that you want to have are Glacius, Arresto Momentum, Diffindo, Flipendo, Levioso, Incendio, Accio, and Confringo.

Using all these spells together will greatly put you at an advantage. You just have to maximize the use of your control spells so that you can easily think of the next moves that you are about to do.

Potions

The last thing that can make your character a lot stronger is potions.

Potions are concoctions that you will have to brew yourself in your own Potions Stations. Each of the seven potions gives you different buffs that grant different effects based on which potion you drink.

Make sure to always have enough potions before you head out, and use them as needed to gain an advantage over your enemies.
