Memories of the Past is a strong lightcone for Ruan Mei, a character added in the Update 1.6 of Honkai: Star Rail.

However, it is not an option for a lot of players who did not manage to roll for the lightcone. But there are great alternatives for Memories of the Past that can still be perfect for Ruan Mei!

Alternatives for Ruan Mei to S5 Memories of the Past

Memories of the Past is best at Superimposition 5, or S5, because not only does it provide Break Effect, it also gives her Energy. These two buffs are compatible to her skill set and almost always guarantee her ultimate at every 3 turns.

Meshing Cogs is her alternative 3-star lightcone that supplies energy enough at S5. But if a 3-star lightcone is not a choice that you want to make for Ruan Mei, there’s more.

Another way to ensure she has that optimal rotation with enough energy regeneration is to work on your other characters.

  • If you happen to run another Harmony character in the team, Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds is another 4-star alternative. Available from the Battlepass.

  • Abundance characters with Quid Pro Quo or Shared Feeling might be the answer. These light cones are also great to help your other characters in the team that has energy problem. Quid Pro Quo is available from the Forgotten Hall shop.

With these and an Energy Regeneration rope for the planar set, you should hsve enough energy to work with. And those are the alternatives if you don’t have Memories of the Past at S5 for Ruan Mei in Honkai: Star Rail. Good luck!
