Horizon Forbidden West has been recently released to a very positive reception, earning praise for its beautiful open world and enhanced gameplay from the first game. Fans of the first won’t be disappointed with this continuation of Aloy’s story. That is until you reach a bugged quest in the game.

In Horizon Forbidden West, there is a main quest called The Broken Sky, where an NPC is experiencing an animation glitch that prevents the quest to progress. Don’t worry though, here’s how to fix that.

How To Fix Bugged Quest – Horizon Forbidden West

The quest requires you to follow an NPC named Kotallo, who puts down a cannon for Aloy to use to destroy the Bulwark. Unfortunately, the game glitches out, and so does Kotallo, who is stuck in a never-ending loop of putting down the cannon. Fortunately, the fix is actually quite simple, and requires only a couple of minutes.

  • Head to the nearest campfire you can find.
  • Once at a campfire, you have to do a manual save. It’s best to do a new save just in case.
  • Once you have manually saved your game, press start and load up the manual save.
  • Let the game load it and return back to Kotello.
  • When you get back to Kotello, the game will have fixed the issue itself and the main quest will now be able to progress.

As of right now, this is the only way to fix this bug. But I’m sure Guerilla Games will be able to patch this little bug in the upcoming days.
