Hogwarts Legacy is nearly here (or you are already playing it if you pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition) and every Harry Potter fan that plays video games are having the time of their life.
Disregarding the current drama going around the game, it is exceptionally well made compared to the old movie tie-in games. Here, you can fully explore Hogwarts before the time of Harry Potter and see what it was like.
But how big is the map of Hogwarts Legacy? Don’t worry, because we know the answer to that, and you can find out here.
Hogwarts Legacy – How Big is the Map
Different Regions of the Map
The map of Hogwarts is split up into several regions that you can explore. However, some parts of the game are still locked to you until you continue the story of the game, so don’t think you can immediately venture out to every corner of the map.
However, here are the current regions of the map we know that you can explore:
- North Ford Bog
- Forbidden Forest
- Hogsmeade Valley
- North Hogwarts Region
- South Hogwarts Region
- Hogwarts Valley
- Feldcroft Region
- South Sea Bog
- Coastal Cavern
- Podsear Coast
- Marunweem Lake
- Cragcroftshire
- Manor Cape
- Clagmar Coast
In each region of the map, there are collectibles you can pick up if you walk around. They often show up when you get close to them, and can even show up as you fly around the area.
How High Can You Fly?
With how vast the map is, it makes you wonder how high you can fly on your broom.
Well, the answer is not very high. In fact, you can’t even fly above Hogsmeade and Hogwarts when you do. However, you can fly through Hogwarts. Not in a literal sense where you can pull a Weasley Twins prank and immediately jump into your broom and fly.
Flying feels okay, though. It’s not that special but it’s not that bad. You can go around and fly as much as you can without a time limit or anything stopping you.
Huge thanks to ESO for the information on how big the map of Hogwarts Legacy is. If you want to learn more about the map, you can check out his YouTube video that talks about the map in great detail.
