Ready to take down the mighty Xenolord in the Feybreak update of Palworld? If you’re finding this raid boss a tough challenge, don’t sweat it—I’ve got you covered! In this guide, I’ll walk you through a foolproof strategy that I personally used to defeat Xenolord with ease. We’ll be using a clever mix of high-damage ice attacks, strategic positioning, and a solid Pal setup to make sure you come out on top. I’ll also share tips that I learned from other players to make your raid run smoother and more efficient.
How to Easily Defeat the New Raid Boss Xenolord
First, choose a location with elevation advantages, such as the Ridge near Pen King, close to the new Oil Rig. This spot allows you to shoot from above while avoiding direct attacks. Also, before I give you the best setup and the boss fight strat, here are some tips you should keep in mind:
- Target the Xenolord’s head for maximum damage.
- Xenolord’s minions won’t attack you or the Palbox, so ignore them.
- Don’t get too close—if Xeno Lord targets you instead of the Palbox, the strategy fails.
Best Setup
For this setup, I use 15 fully maxed-out Bastigors. These are equipped with Legend-tier passives: Muscle Head, Demon God, and Serenity.
The active skills include Frozen Talon, Diamond Rain, and Glacial Impact—perfect for dealing massive damage. What’s great is that this setup is easy to obtain. It took me just 2,700 resources to create 30 of them!
You can easily breed Bastigor by combining Frostallion with Anubis. I used the Frostallion as my main mount since it converts the player’s attack into ice, increasing damage against the Xenolord Raid Boss, a Dragon-Dark type.
For passives, I selected Legend Infinity Stamina, Vanguard, and Runner. Before the fight, you can feed your team Mammorest Curry to boost their attack by 25% and Advanced Recovery Meds to make sure they have rapid health regeneration for sustainability.
This strategy is all about exploiting a little quirk where the raid boss targets the Palbox, not you. As long as you’re far enough away, you can still attack the boss while it ignores you. A quick reminder: There’s still a 10-minute timer, so you need to deal enough damage before time runs out. Here’s how to do that:
- Boost your attack stat. This is essential, so make sure you’re stacking Attack Pendants to pump up your damage.
- Weapon choice matters! You’ll want something powerful, like the multi-guided Missile Launcher, the new Bow, or, in my case, the Plasma Cannon (I’ve personally got it in legendary for that extra oomph).
- Food buffs are key. Eat foods that increase your attack and bring 4 Gobfin in your party for that extra damage boost.
- Choose your Pal wisely. Make sure that you ride a Pal that boosts the player’s attack type to Ice, which is super effective against the Xenolord. Vanguard Pal companions are ideal here too.
If you’re struggling with things like legendary schematics, don’t forget to check the new Level 60 Oil Rig – that’s where I got mine. I also learned some cool stuff from other players. For example, the highest damage ice moves are “Diamond Rain” and “Icicle Line,” which might help take down Xenolord faster.
The Boss Raid Fight
As soon as the raid begins, fly up into the air. This strategy forces Xenolord to target your pals instead of you. Your Basalgors’ ice-based attacks deal extra damage to Xenolord due to his Dragon-Dark typing. Stay high above the ground throughout the fight. This prevents backup Pals from targeting your team, leaving them idle and ineffective.
While fighting, it’s important to maximize your damage output. Use your Ride’s attack whenever possible to squeeze in extra hits. You’ve got 10 minutes, so every bit counts. Also, keep an eye on your Ride’s health—if it gets knocked out, you’ll be in trouble!
A couple of things to keep in mind:
- The HP bar of the boss may disappear when you move a little further away, but don’t worry—it’s still attacking the pal box. Just get a bit closer and the HP bar will return.
- The Xeno Lord’s attack patterns can be a bit tricky. Its head is your best target for critical hits, but don’t forget, it has invincibility frames when flying and while doing certain animations. Just wait until it’s back on the ground to deal full damage.
Also, avoid Xenolord’s devastating attacks by maintaining high ground. If the boss starts looking at you, it’s about to attack. If it kills your Frostallion, you’ll likely need to reset. Keep that in mind.
With the right strategy, you will take no damage during the entire fight. When Xenolord’s health drops to around 650,000, he’ll summon additional reinforcements. However, by staying airborne, they remain inactive, making this phase easier.
Once Xenolord is defeated, you’ll receive your very own Huge Dark Egg (Xenolord) and a Xenolord (Ultra) Slab.
