The difference between The Forest and its sequel, Sons of the Forest, is that there are more weapons that you can get that weren’t available in the game.
For example, guns. Guns were missing from the first game. You can technically get one called the Flintlock Pistol, but it’s a horrible gun compared to what we have now. You also have better melee weaponry like the Stun Baton.

Sons Of The Forest – How To Find A Stun Baton
When you start the game, there is a way for you to get a Stun Baton early. All you have to do is make the trip to the edge of the snowy area. Using your GPS, you will need to find an area with a waterfall.
In front of the waterfall is a stack of skulls with a Stun Baton going through one skull (use the image above to find the location of the Stun Baton).
Approach the skulls and pick it up.
