After almost a decade of waiting, the sequel to the original The Forest game is finally out.

If you’re looking to survive the dangers of Sons of the Forest, the Compound Bow is an excellent weapon choice – it’s quick, quiet, and very economical as you can reuse arrows that you use to kill cannibals.

This guide will walk you through the process of obtaining the Compound Bow. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, this weapon will help you increase your chances of survival in the scary place that is the cannibal island you’re venturing through in the Sons of the Forest.

Sons Of The Forest – How To Find Compound Bow Location

Keep in mind, you’re going to need a shovel to dig up the maintenance entrance the bow is located in, so make sure you have that before going for it. Check out our website for a guide on finding the shovel.

The first thing you want to do is to get to the southwestern portion of the map. Looking at the GPS locator, the maintenance entrance is close to the big river going down to the ocean.

Once you’re done digging, use the ladder to enter the tunnel.

Depending on the weather in your game, this could be covered with snow or just dirt.

Unlike most underground spaces in the Sons of the Forest, the tunnel looks very modern. Once you’re down there, you’ll see a narrow hallway without much in it besides a few blue canisters floating around, as the tunnel is flooded.

Follow the hallway until you reach a door on your right. Enter the room, and raid away! It’s not where the bow is, but you can grab the silencer pistol attachment while you’re in the tunnel.

You’ll get a few consumables along the way, but the silencer is located on the table with a laptop.

Don’t forget to attach it to your pistol once you’ve looted it!

Once you’re done looting that room, keep moving down the hallway until you reach another room. You might find some loot in the room itself, but the compound bow is located in the bathroom.

Despite requiring you to use both hands to shoot, it does as much damage as the crossbow, and its fire rate is a lot higher as you don’t need to waste time loading the arrow.

Shoot cannibals down like clay pigeons!

As mentioned earlier in the guide, another advantage of the compound bow over weapons that rely on ammo is that you can reuse the arrows. Simply loot a cannibal after shooting it down, that way you can stay economical as you progress through the Sons of the Forest story.
