The Cursed Sea update has finally dropped in Fisch, bringing with it the Second Sea, a brand-new region filled with fresh missions, new fishing spots, and plenty of surprises. But getting there isn’t as easy as just sailing in. Before you can access this new area, you’ll need to meet certain level requirements and take on a tough boss fight. My guide will walk you through everything you need to know to reach the Second Sea, including where to go, what to do, and how to make the most of your journey once you arrive.
How to Get to Second Sea
Before you can set sail for the Second Sea, you need to complete a few steps. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Level Requirement: You must be at least Level 250 in the First Sea.
- Boss Battle: You’ll need to defeat the Cthulhu Boss inside the Dreamer’s Crypt.
Finding & Entering the Dreamer’s Crypt
First, head over to Terrapin Island in the First Sea. This is where your journey to the Second Sea begins. If you’re struggling to find it, use your GPS and navigate to XYZ: 155.9, 149.8, 2038.8. This will lead you to the Sea Traveler NPC, standing right next to a large gate that serves as the entrance to the Dreamer’s Crypt.

Once you reach the entrance, you’ll meet the Sea Traveler NPC. Talking to him will reveal that you need to be Level 250 to enter. If you haven’t reached this level yet, you’ll need to grind for XP before proceeding.
If you meet the requirement, you can enter the Crypt of the Green One, where you’ll face cultists that attack with fireballs. Players below Level 250 will be instantly killed, so don’t try to rush in early.

Defeating the Cthulhu Boss
Inside the Crypt, you’ll trigger a cutscene before engaging in the Cthulhu Boss fight. This fight involves a unique mechanic:
- Pick up the Keeper’s Torch from the altar.
- Cthulhu’s health bar has color-coded phases.
- Find the matching lantern, interact with it, and attack Cthulhu while infused with that color.
- Repeat the process until the boss is defeated.
Bringing teammates along will make this fight significantly easier. Once you defeat Cthulhu, a portal opens in the center of the arena. Jump through it, and congratulations, you’ve reached the Second Sea!
One of the more controversial changes in this update is that First Sea rods now have a -50% debuff, making Second Sea rods essential. However, some of the new rods aren’t even that great.

Exploring the Second Sea
Now that you’ve unlocked the Second Sea, let’s go over what’s waiting for you there. The update brings seven new islands and new rods, but things aren’t exactly smooth sailing.
- Waveborn Island (Starter Island)
- Home to the Firefly Rod (9,500 coins) and Wildflower Rod (7,000 coins).
- Contains merchants, an appraiser, and a newly accessible lighthouse.
- Pine Sholes
- Not much happening here, just a few NPCs and another lighthouse.
- Azure Lagoon
- Features the Azure Lagoon Rod (100,000 coins).
- Considered a “starter rod” despite its price, as no additional tasks are required to buy it.
- Isles of New Beginnings
- Home to the Free Spirit Rod (200,000 coins).
- Unlocks only after completing 70% of the Bestiary in the Second Sea.
- Lush Grove
- The largest island by landmass.
- Features the Verdant Shear Rod (100,000 coins).
- Contains hidden caves and another bestiary challenge.
- Ember Reach
- Features an active volcano with geysers and rare ores.
- You can enter the volcano, but it requires special gear (to be covered in a later guide).
- Cursed Shores
- Home to the Great Dreamer Rod (500,000 coins).
- Requires collecting every rod in this update before purchase.

Wrap-Up
Getting to the Second Sea in Fisch isn’t too difficult if you follow this guide. Just make sure you’re Level 250, prepare for the Cthulhu Boss fight, and talk to the Sea Traveler whenever you want to move between seas.
While the new region is exciting, some of the balancing decisions feel off, weak rods, nerfed progressions, and lingering bugs make it a mixed experience. But if you’re here for the adventure, the Second Sea still has a lot to offer.
