Dune Awakening offers players a lot to do in their journey of surviving the deserts of Arrakis. You can lay claim to plot of lands for yourself so that you can start building together. As a multiplayer game, you can also band together with friends and other players to increase your chances of survival. Often, you’ll find yourself sharing bases with each other. But the default base permissions makes things a bit difficult – especially if you’re trying to construct something major. In this guide, we’ll show you how you can give base permissions to other players. Let’s get into it!

How To Give Base Permissions

To be able to change base permissions in Dune Awakening, the first thing you need to do is head to your base. Once here, interact with the Sub-Fief Console.

This console indicates your ownership of that particular area. Keep in mind that you will have to be the Owner of the base in order to assign permissions.

In the Sub-Fief Console, you want to navigate to the Permissions tab. Below, you’ll be able to see a list of players, which includes your Friends and Party Members. You can hit the + icon for the player that you want to add to the Permissions List.

When you add a person to the Permissions List, they start off by getting the lowest permissions, which is Associate level.

To understand how base roles work in Dune Awakening, you can select the Role Overview options. This will show you all the permissions that each role can get.

From here, you can demote and promote players in your base. Keep in mind that only the Owner can mess around with permissions. The highest permissions that you can give to someone else as the Owner is Co-Owner.

A base can have multiple Co-Owners.

If you’re adding someone new to your base, we recommend only giving them Associate level access. Of course, if it’s a friend or someone you trust, you can give them the Co-Owner permissions. It’s entirely up to you.

Additionally, if you navigate to the General Settings tab, you can also set the Access Level to your base. It will have the same roles alongside Guild and Public Access.

Guild access means that all members of your guild can access your base. Public access ensures that any player can enter your base.

In this way, you can not only control what someone can do at your base, but also control who can enter it in the first place.

That’s everything you need to know about giving base permissions in Dune Awakening. Now, you’ll be able to give your friends higher permissions so that you can get some proper base building done. We recommend that you do not give high base permissions to everyone – as some players may simply try to earn your trust. After all, no one is immune to the dangers of griefing on Arrakis!
