There is a system for organizing your army in battle, but it can take a while until you get used to it. Mount And Blade 2 Bannerlord – How To Issue Orders & Formations
First, to open up the menu, press L1, and that will bring you to the orders menu. If you order all the units, you can press down on the pad to deselect the units. Once you select the units that you want to control, press square to move to the position.
If you want to select another option, not from the quick ones, you can select the one you like and press R2 or the right trigger to confirm the order.
In the beginning, it may be difficult until you get used to the buttons. However, once you master it, you will see that it is easy, and you will win every battle.
