As you’re probably familiar, a new DLC for Risk of Rain 2 has launched on March 1st, bringing all kinds of fresh and unique challenges, items, areas to explore, and of course – a new boss. Here, you’ll find out how to reach the new final boss using various methods.

Risk of Rain 2: How To Reach New Final Boss

The final boss is located in the Deep Void, which you can access using the purple portal. There are four ways to get a purple portal, so check out below for additional details.

  • It can appear randomly in your chatbox, if you‘re lucky enough. Make sure to complete the teleporter first.
Yay!
  • The second method actually happens inside of a blue portal. The purple portal can appear in the Lunar Seers, two-stage selectors found at the right side of the Newt Altar. Your current stage is irrelevant because there is a chance of getting a purple seer at any point.

  • Similarly to the second method, the third method also occurs inside a blue portal. First, go down to the void fields portal by jumping off your spawn point.

  • Rather than falling all the way, make sure to hug the wall and jump to a massive gap in the wall. It’s a bit tricky, but it’s absolutely worth trying.
Try not to fall all the way down.
  • Proceed through the tunnel, and you’ll find a hidden portal at its end. Then, complete the activity, and the purple portal will spawn.
Light at the end of the tunnel.
  • Lastly, you can reach the new void boss by killing Mithrix. Go to the moon, fight and defeat Mithrix as usual.
King of nothing.
  • Then, rather than escaping by a rescue ship, run past it and return to the spawn point.
Don‘t stop here, keep going forward.

There, you’ll meet an old pal Froggy, who’ll want some pets. Once he gets 10 – 12 pets (each pet will cost you 1 lunar coin), he’ll spawn a purple portal for you.

Pet the frog.
