Aleior
There are a lot of interesting characters that you can recruit in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Some of these characters need you to recruit others first to get them, like Aleior the Griffon which is connected to Marisa. Here’s how you can recruit them!
Here are the steps that we’ll be taking to recruit Aleior in the game:
- Progress the story until you automatically recruit Marisa.
- Talk to Marisa in the Fort Castlekeep – 1F.
- Talk to an NPC in the middle of Altverden Village.
- Head to the Abandoned Mine.
- Interact with Aleior while Marisa is at your party to recruit them!
As you go through Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, you’ll find some characters that are automatically recruited to your party. One of those characters is Marisa and you’ll need her to be there if you want to recruit Aleior.
Once you’ve progressed through the story and gotten Marisa, you’ll want to talk to her in the Fort Castlekeep – 1F. After that, you can start the process of recruiting Aleior.
The next step is to go to Altverden Village and then head to the area near the exit as shown below. You’ll find an NPC there on the upper left that you’ll need to talk to.
You can use the image below as a reference, you’re looking for a generic-looking villager NPC.
Once you’ve talked to the Villager, you’ll then want to head to the Abandoned Mine and head to the area shown below. There, you’ll find the Griffon Aleior, make sure to have Marisa at your party and talk to them.
After Marisa and Aleior meet up you can then recruit the griffon to your party! That’s how you can recruit Aleior in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Aire
It is only natural for Aire to want you to demonstrate your strength when you want her to join your squad because she holds the title of Energetic Trainer in Eiyuden Chronicle.
That is exactly what she is going to do, Aire is going to recommend that you two have a little race. She will start running a lap around the town, and you will need to catch her.
However, how are you going to stay up with such a skilled trainer as Aire? The answer is easy. Before the race begins, simply equip your character with a Swift Speed Rune.
If you do not have a Swift Speed Rune ready, you can use something like Dash Boots as well.
Once you start the race, you will watch as the two characters run and if you have one of the items we have mentioned, Aire will lose the race. She will be happy to see that she now has the chance to have a good training partner, and gladly join your team.
This is how to recruit Aire in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes! It is a pretty easy and fun little task, and you get to work with one of the best trainers in the town in return.
Caine
In order to get Caine to join your party, you will need to do one thing: go through the main story until you officially unlock the base. That’s right, it’s simple as that. Once you get the base and unlock it for use, Caine is immediately recruited to your party as a playable character. When not in use, Caine will remain in the base, tending to it until you return.
That’s all you need to know on how to recruit Caine in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Carrie
To recruit Carrie, you first need to progress your main story to the point where you reach the Dead End in Old Town. Once you reach there, make your way to Hishahn.
First Encounter
After you get to Hishahn, go to the area which is circled in the image below. Just keep going around the bridge until you get the First Cutscene of Carrie. If you have trouble triggering it, try moving along the edges of the bridge.
Second Encounter
Once you get the First Cutscene of Carrie, move to the area circled in the image below. This is where you will get the Second Cutscene of Carrie. Just keep moving around the area until you trigger the cutscene.
Third Encounter
After you get the Second Cutscene of Carrie, make your way to the bridge circled in the image down below. This is where you will get the last cutscene of Carrie. As again, keep moving around until you trigger the cutscene. If having trouble, move around the Tree which is located at the end of the bridge.
Once you get the Third Cutscene in which you will see Carrie teleport in and drop on the ground, you will get an option. Select, “So you admit it?” and Carrie will join your party.
Cassandra
Just like Caine, Cassandra is a character that you can only get after you unlock the base. While she is a character that you will meet very early on in the game, she cannot be recruited until you advance the main story. Once you reach the point where you unlock the base, Cassandra will then be recruited and available to use as both the Innkeeper in your base and a party member.
That’s all you need to know on how to recruit Cassandra in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Celia
Celia is the Masked Woman that challenges you at the Cooking Challenges at the Headquarters. To recruit her, you have to win the Cooking Challenges against her with Kurtz in your team.
So, to summarize what you need to recruit Celia:
- Recruit Kurtz.
- Build the Restaurant at Headquarters.
- Win 10 Cook-Offs.
- Find the Scroll of Heaven.
- Win another 5 Cook-Offs.
Recruit Kurtz: We have the full comprehensive guide to recruit Kurtz. To summarize, speak to the guy in Hishahn where he’ll ask you to find him the Grilled Tutuva Recipe. The recipe is in The Treefolk Village.
Build a restaurant: Head to Iris to get the Restaurant built in your Headquarters. You need Kurtz to do this.
Win 10 Cook-Offs. Head into the Restaurant and start the Cooking Challenge by speaking to Kurtz and then the Cook. Every Cook-Off takes 10 minutes before you can start another round.
Find the Scroll of Heaven. Once you’re done with the 10th round, Trey will tease about the certain scroll. This will turn into a quest where you need to find the Scroll of Heaven, which is to the south in Seaside Cavern.
Win another 5 Cook-Offs. After you bring him the scroll, win another 5 rounds with 10 minutes of wait in between as usual. After the last one, you’re going to finally meet the Masked Woman.
Win against her and she’ll reveal herself as Celia who is willing to join your party. And this is how you can recruit Celia in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes!
Chandra
Before you are able to recruit Chandra, you must recruit Code L and Stadler. Let’s start with recruiting Code L first.
How To Recruit Code L
In order to recruit Code L, you need to defeat the boss of Hishahn Old Town and get the Rune of Current. You will come across this boss while progressing through the main story. After you get the Rune of Current, go to the shop marked in the image below (it is in the Daphan Village).
Inside the shop, you will find Code L to your left. Talk to Code L and give him the Rune of Current. He will join your party after the dialogues.
Next, we need to recruit Stadler.
How To Recruit Stadler
Go to Impershi’arc and then make your way to the location marked in the image below.
You will find Stadler standing there. Talk to him and after the dialogues, you need to beat him in a Mock Field Battle.
After you defeat Stadler, he will join your party. Now, you need to build the Drill Ground in your HQ.
Building Drill Ground
Before you can build the Drill Ground, your HQ needs to be at level 2. In your HQ, make your way to the location shown below.
Here you will find Iris (shown below). Talk to her and then select Blueprint.
This will bring up the HQ building menu. The Drill Ground that you need to build is marked by an arrow in the image below. You will need 1000 HQ Funds, 100 Food, 40 Pelt and Stadler (which you should have already recruited by now).
Rumors + Putting Code L as Support
Once you build the Drill Ground, go outside your HQ and you will get a cutscene in which you will see some soldiers talking about a Dragon. After the cutscene is over, go back inside the HQ.
Now go to Ymir (you will find him to the left of Iris) and talk to him. Select Form Party and put Code L at the Support position.
Fighting the Legendary Dragon
Now it is time to find the Legendary Dragon. Go to Eldroad and then move to the area marked in the image below. This is where you will find Chandra (the Legendary Dragon).
Defeat Chandra in battle (with Code L added as Support) and once you beat it. You will get a cutscene and after the cutscene, Chandra will join your party.
Chron
To recruit Chron, all you actually need to do is just progress through the main story until you finish the events in the Proving Grounds. Once you do that, Chron will then become available to talk to you outside your castle. Chron is a story related character, so he is quite literally impossible to miss. He also does not help you in battle, but he does help you in base building.
That’s all you need to know on how to recruit Chron into your party in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Clarke
You can find Clarke in Ardinale City. Head there and make your way to the location marked in the image below.
He will be standing in front of the fountain-like area (check the image below). Go ahead and talk to him. After his dialogues are finished, he will task you with finding a script called The Star-Cross’d Lovers Script.
The Star-Cross’d Lovers Script
You can get this script from a shop in Ardinale City. If you do not know about the shop, it is marked in the image below.
Make your way to that location (marked above) and enter the shop. Talk to the guy at the counter (General Store Manager). Buy The Star-Cross’d Lovers Script from him, it costs 5,000.
Note: The script is sometimes not available for sale. In such a case, wait 30 – 45 minutes for the shop items to refresh.
After you purchase the The Star-Cross’d Lovers Script, return to Clarke. He will still be standing at his old location. Talk to him and after some of his dialogues, you will get a choice. Select “Welcome to the ranks” and he will join your party. That’s how you recruit Clarke in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes!
Dr. Corque & Reid
First of all, you need to progress your main story until you unlock your HQ. Once done, go to Eltisweiss. You will find Reid and Crasher dueling each other in the lower right corner of Eltisweiss. After the cutscene is finished, you need to go and recruit Dr. Corque.
You will be able to find Dr. Corque in his House which is located in Eltisweiss. Exact location of his House is marked in the image below. Go inside the House and defeat Reid in a spinner duel.
After you beat Reid, you will get a cutscene. And once the cutscene finishes, you need to find Taq and beat him in a spinner duel.
Defeating Taq
You can find Taq in the Altverden Village. Look at the image below for his exact location.
After beating Taq in a duel, next you need to defeat Celera.
Defeating Celera
Celera can be found in the Werne Village. Go to the location marked by the arrow in the image below to find her. Talk to her to enter a duel.
Once you beat Celera, you need to go after Fender next.
Defeating Fender
You can find Fender in the Kyshiri Village. Go to the location marked in the image below and challenge him to a duel.
Once you have successfully defeated Taq, Celera and Fender, return to Eltisweiss once again and visit Dr. Corque and talk to him. After the cutscene, he will join your party and also move into your HQ.
Now that we have recruited Dr. Corque, we can start working on recruiting Reid.
Okay, the first order of business is to visit Dr. Corque’s House in your HQ. Go to Fort Castlekeep and then you will be able to find his House in the location marked in the image below.
Once you visit his House, you will have to beat Reid again in a duel. After you are done with that, you have to go and beat 6 other people and all of them are found in completely different locations.
Note: You may also end up dueling some extra people which you find around the world.
Defeating Thudd
You can find Thudd in Arenside. Go to the location marked in the image below and challenge him to a duel. Defeat him and then move on to the next guy.
Defeating Zeph
Zeph is located in The Treefolk Village. You will be able to find him in the area which is marked below by the arrow. Go ahead and defeat him in a duel as well.
Defeating Venom
Once you are done with Zeph, you need to challenge Venom to a duel and also beat him. You can find him Daphan Village and he will be standing in the location marked in the image below.
Defeating Zeid for the Third Time
After you defeat Thudd, Zeph and Venom in duels, you need to go back to Dr. Croque’s House (located in your HQ). Once you enter the House, you will get a cutscene and an option. Select “So, prove it then.” and beat Zeid in the duel.
Defeating Flowe
Once you are done with Zeid, go to Hishahn and make your way to the location marked in the image below. Here you will find Flowe, challenge her to a duel and win.
Defeating Pyre
After winning against Flowe, go to Impershi’arc. You will find Pyre in the location marked below. As usual, challenge him to a duel and beat him.
Final Battle (Defeating Crash)
Now after a ton of duels, it is finally time to face the boss himself. If you don’t already know, he is called Crash. You will be able to find him Ardinale City. After getting there, go to the location which you can see marked in the image below.
Challenge Crash to a duel and show him who’s boss. After going through so many battles, beating Crash should not be a big deal.
Once you defeat Crash, you will get a cutscene and Zeid will join your party. Now that was a lot of duels and running around but it is behind you now. At least it was not in vain, as you got to recruit 2 new Heroes. That’s how you recruit Reid & Dr. Corque in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes!
Durlan
For this character, all you need to do is find him in the Abandoned Mine. The quickest way to reach him is through the well in the courtyard of your castle.
Refer to our guide on what to do after getting the base in case you have forgotten about it, as this is also where you go to recruit Ormond.
Durlan can be found at the highlighted spot of the map image below. All you need to do is speak with him and he will agree to join the resistance without really asking for anything in return.
One thing to note, however, is that he might not be recruitable until much later in the game. Basically, you might have to upgrade your HQ to level 3 first, and this will not be possible until you reach a certain part of the story.
This is because the upgrade itself will require some Excellent Lacquer. We have a guide on how to get Excellent Lacquer in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes with more detailed information, and you should check that out if you haven’t gotten any yet.
You might also need to build the Mission Guild first, which will require you to have at least one Dire Beastbone. We have a guide on how to find Dire Beastbone that will help you with this.
Durlan is particularly useful for missions that reward you with stone and ore. This makes him an ideal party member for something like the “Patrol Eastern Trade Route” or “Rare Stone” missions.
And that is everything you need to know in order to recruit the old stonemason Durlan in the game, who is just one of many other useful characters to have.
Enoe
First go to your HQ and then talk to Iris. If you do not know where she is, then check the image below for guidance. Select Blueprint after talking to her.
Once you do that, you will be presented with the HQ building menu. Here, you need to build the Mission Guild (marked in the image below). You will need 3200 HQ Funds, 200 Food, 40 Pelt and 1 Dire Beastbone in order to build it.
Other than this, you also need to have your HQ at Level 2. Once you have done all that, go to Daphan Village and then make your way to the location marked in the image down below.
You will find Enoe standing there as you can see in the image below. Go ahead and talk to him.
You will get a cutscene in which he will say that he wants to join your party because you have the Mission Guild. After the cutscene is over, Enoe will join your party.
Faye & B’baba
Before you get started, you need to first complete the Hishahn Story Arc of the game. After you have done that, go to Fort Castlekeep and make your way to the location shown below.
Once you reach the above marked location. you will get a cutscene in which you will see Faye escaping from Soldiers. After the cutscene is over, you need to go to the Daphan Village. Once there, go to the shop marked in the image below.
Inside the shop, you will B’baba. Talk to her and after her dialogues finishes, she will join your party.
Building the Divination Parlor
Once B’baba joins your party, you need to build the Divination Parlor for her in your HQ. Go to your HQ and talk to Iris. Click on Blueprint and afterwards build the Divination Parlor (marked in the image below). It will require 1600 HQ Funds and B’baba.
1st Attempt of Catching Faye
After you build the Divination Parlor, B’baba will shift to your HQ. She can be found in the shop on First Floor (marked in the image below). Now visit B’baba and talk to her to ask about Faye. She will tell you that Faye is on the Rooftops.
After the cutscene finishes, go to the Third Floor of your HQ and then make your way to the Rooftops through the stairs marked in the image below.
Once you go up to the Rooftops, you will get a cutscene in which you will find Faye talking to Yusuke. After seeing the Soldiers, she will make a run for it. Once the cutscene is over, go to B’baba again and talk to her. She will give you the new location of Faye.
2nd Attempt of Catching Faye
This time Faye can be found with Francesca. Go to the first floor of your HQ and visit the room on the far left, it is located just left of Ymir. Once you get inside the room, you will be greeted with yet another cutscene in which Faye will be talking to Francesca and after seeing the Soldiers, she will run and escape once again.
Now go back to B’baba one last time and talk to her. She will tell you about the new location of Faye.
Last Attempt of Catching Faye
Go to the Third Floor of your HQ. You will find Faye talking to Yume in the middle of the hall. Approach Faye and you will get a cutscene. But this time, Faye will not be able to escape. Instead, she will join your party. This turned out to be harder than it needed to be but at least she is a part of your team now. And that’s how you recruit Faye & B’baba in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes!
Francesca
One of the more interesting characters in the game is Francesca, she’s the earliest healer that you can get in the game. Without spoiling much, she has a very peculiar personality and recruiting her can be quite entertaining!
Here are the steps that we’ll be taking to recruit Francesca:
- Progress the story until you get the goal “Recruit Members for the Watch.”
- Go to the Grum County map.
- Head inside Altverden Village.
- Go to the top-left corner of the village.
- See Francesca’s cutscene and recruit her!
To recruit Francesca, you’ll have to progress through the story until your Current Goal is to “Recruit members for the Watch.” It is a quest that you get early in the game. Once you’ve done that, go outside town and onto Grum County.
You’ll want to head to the west of the starter town as shown in the image above. There, you’ll find Altverden Village where you’ll need to go inside to.
Once there, you’ll then want to go to the northwestern corner of the town where a cutscene will automatically play.
You’ll meet the character Francesca who she’ll have some problems with thugs. After the cutscene, you’ll have a choice of recruiting her, and if you choose “You have a place with us” she’ll join!
Now you have a healer in your party, increasing the chances of surviving throughout the game! That’s how you can recruit Francesca in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Fume
Before you can recruit Fume, you’ll need to recruit Gocteau. He’ll set up the Guild feature for you, which is required to make Fume willing to join you!
In short, though, you’ll recruit Gocteau naturally as part of the main story. You don’t have to go out of your way for him!
Once you’ve recruited Gocteau and set up the Guild, you’ll need to visit the Dappled Forest.
It’s in the “Near Headquarters” region, which is the fourth region you get to visit in the game. We’ve marked it in the map above.
The Dappled Forest itself is an optional dungeon with decently tough opponents, so make sure you’ve come prepared!
When you enter the Dappled Forest, you will simply need to make your way through it until you reach the circular “room” in the middle. It’s a very linear dungeon, so you can’t miss it!
You’ll encounter Fume on the rightmost edge of that part of the forest, just standing there. Walk up to him and speak with him.
The moment you speak with him, Fume will say that he’s heard all about you. He knows that Gocteau set up a new Guild in your headquarters and offers to become your Guild Deputy right away!
So, all you have to do is to say, “Welcome to the ranks” and you’ll recruit Fume, effective immediately. Let’s be honest though, the guy basically invited himself into your army anyway!
Nonetheless, that’s all you need to know to recruit the extremely enthusiastic Fume. One more hero for your ever-growing ranks, Nowa.
Galdorf
In order to recruit Galdorf, you must progress in the story enough to reach Castle Ruins. After you do the repairs of the Castle Ruins to transform it into your HQ. Go to the Abandoned Mine, and make your way to the location marked in the image below.
Here you will find Galdorf, standing at the entrance of the mine. Talk to Galdorf and you will get a bunch of dialogues.
After Galdorf finishes talking, you need to go and find Palenight Mail in the Abandoned Mine.
Location of Palenight Mail
You will find Palenight Mail located in a place next to Ormond. The exact location is marked in the image below.
You will find the Palenight Mail there, simply go ahead and pick it up. The area will have a glow effect and when you get close, a blue icon will show up. If you are having trouble finding it, then check the image below.
Once you acquire the Palenight Mail, go back to Galdorf and talk to him. You will get a couple of dialogues, after which Galdorf will join your party.
Gocteau
There are a ton of different characters that you can recruit in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Some of these characters you’ll have to find to be able to recruit. There are those characters that are easy to recruit like the Reliable Guild Leader Gocteau.
To recruit Gocteau, all you have to do is follow the main story. This character is automatically added to your party through story events, so you don’t need to look around the world to find him.
There are a lot of other characters that are added to your party automatically. There are some characters that you’ll need to manually find though like Kurtz. Go check out our guide on how to recruit Kurtz if you need him at your party!
That’s how you can recruit Goctaeu in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Now, go out there and try to get him yourself!
Hakugin
The secret to recruiting Hakugin is to bring along Mio with you. Mio is a character that you most likely possess early in the game, so as long as you have her in your party, Hakugin will be excited to join your party!
You can’t simply have her in your ranks, you have to add her to your party because a dialogue will trigger ensuing her appearance.
To find Hakugin, enter Daphan Village and reach the end of the road on your first right turn. To change your party members, there’s an inn in the village on the second right turn from the entrance. And that’s how you can recruit Hakugin into your party in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes!
Huang
You first meet Huang very early on in the game, but you actually won’t be able to have him join you just yet. If you didn’t interact with him back in the starting area, you’ll meet him again later, so don’t worry if you missed him.
First, you will need to reach the city of Hishahn. This is a location that you will eventually visit throughout the main story, and it will take you a few hours to actually get there in your playthrough.
Upon entering the city of Hishahn, just head all the way over to the east and you will eventually see Huang along the way staring off into the water below.
Speak with him and finish the conversation to receive a bamboo fishing rod if you haven’t already done so early in the game. This will unlock the fishing activity.
Searching for the Wheel-Eye Bream
Before Huang can join your ranks, he will ask you for a special type of fish called the Wheel-Eye Bream. This is a rare type of fish that can be found near the Seaside Cavern in Euchrisse. Check the map image below to see where you can find it.
From here, all you need to do is keep fishing in this spot until you get the Wheel-Eye Bream, which has a red and gray-ish color scheme. They are fairly uncommon, so you might have to stay here for a while if you’re unlucky.
Recruiting Huang and the Benefits
With the Wheel-Eye Bream on hand, all you have to do now is return to Huang and tell him that he has a place in your crew. After that, he will join your party and unlock a few benefits along with him.
His addition to the party will allow you to construct a fishing spot in your headquarters. This action will cost you 800 Headquarters Funds and 40 pelts.
This will open up all sorts of features, including the ability to gather fish (obviously) that you can use for various dishes. This can come in handy for players who like cooking all sorts of recipes.
And that is everything you need to know when it comes to recruiting Huang in the game, who is just one of many characters that you’ll meet.
Isha
To recruit Isha, you must progress your main story to the point where you complete the War Battle against Chapell. After that, you can find Isha in Eltisweiss. You can find her exact location from the image below.
She will be standing near a Fountain with a little girl as you can see in the image below.
Approach and talk to her. You will get a number of dialogues in which she will be asking you if you can help her. Simply put, you will need to do a couple of simple tasks for her. The first one is finding a lost cat that has “black fur and a slinky walk“.
Finding the Lost Cat
You can find this lost cat in Eltisweiss. The exact location of the lost cat is marked by the arrow in the image below.
Once you find the lost cat, interact with it. You will be taken back to Isha and get a cutscene. Now she will ask you to go on a quest to find Cockatrice Eggs in the Mountain Pass
Getting a Cockatrice Egg
You only need 1 Cockatrice Egg. First make your way to Mountain Path Homeward and go to the location marked in the image below.
What you need to do here is get into a monster encounter (battle). Just round around the area until you get into a battle that has a Treasure Chest. Once you encounter a battle like this, make all your party members attack the chest to try to open it.
Once you are successful in opening the Treasure Chest, you will be able to get a Cockatrice Egg. After getting it, just defeat the monsters to finish the battle.
Once done with the battle, go back to Isha and give her the Cockatrice Egg. Again, you will get a short cutscene in which she will now task you with delivering a package to a shop in the Arenside Village.
Delivering the Package
To deliver the package, first go to Arenside and then make your way to the shop marked in the image below.
Go inside the shop and give the package to the girl on the counter (Tool Shopkeeper). Once you do that, go back to Isha once again. Talk to her and you will get some dialogues, after which Isha will join your party.
Iris
When you go through the story of Eiyuden Chronicle, you’ll know that the game has a lot of characters in it. Not only that, but there are a lot of recruitable characters as well that can fill a lot of roles in your party! One of the characters you automatically get in the game is Iris, the Illustrious Architect!
To recruit Iris, you’ll need to play through the story until you reach the part where you can build your base. That’s when she’ll be automatically added to your party. She’s the character you’ll want to talk to when it comes to most of the base-building aspects of the game.
Without spoiling much, Iris is an Architect and loves talking about anything related to that field. She’s one of the more interesting characters in the game and someone you’ll talk to a lot as you build your base. That’s how you can get Iris in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Iugo
There are a couple of characters in Eiyuden Chronicle that you can recruit early on. The thing is some of them can only be recruited if you find them. This is in contrast to the characters that you automatically get as you play through the game like the Bandit Leader Kogen.
One of the earliest recruitable characters is Iugo, and you can get him once you get the Current Goal of “Recruit members for the Watch.” To get this character you’ll want to head to the eastern part of Eltisweiss, where you’ll find a bar. Go inside and you’ll find Iugo.
Iugo is a Samurai that you’ll meet in that bar. He’ll talk about a mission of his own and the Main Character will invite him to join. He’s a great damage dealer and a good addition to any party so make sure to get him as early as possible! That’s how you can get Iugo in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Jorhan
You can recruit Jorhan after you have completed the Hishahn Story Arc (or more specifically the War Battle against Chapell). Once you have done that, go to the Hishahn and make your way to the location marked in the image below.
You will find Jorhan here. Talk to him and after a few dialogues, he will give you his quest. To complete his quest, you need the Yellow Rose Censer and for that you need to first get Unknown Antiques.
Getting Unknown Antiques
You get Unknown Antique as a drop reward from defeating Scarab monsters. You can find Scarab in the Eastern Desert (location marked in the image below).
Simply run around the area (marked above) until you encounter Scarabs. Defeat them to get Unknown Antique. I suggest you get more than one Unknown Antique so you do not have to come back here for more.
Appraising to get Yellow Rose Censer
Once you get Unknown Antique (preferably more than one), go back to the Hishahn area where Jorhan is standing. Near Jorhan, you will find the Appraiser Manager (look at the image below). Talk to him to appraise the Unknown Antique you found earlier.
There is a 25% chance to get Yellow Rose Censer on appraisal (which is why I suggested getting more than one Unknown Antique).
Once you get a Yellow Rose Censer, simply return to Jorhan and talk to him. You will get a few dialogues and after that, Jorhan will join your party.
Kallathor
There are a lot of different characters that you can get in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. The thing is, some of them you’ll need to find throughout the world and may involve some questing or finding specific spots.
This isn’t the case for one of the characters Kallathor who isn’t a human like the rest of the recruitable characters. To recruit Kallathor, you’ll need to progress through the story until you reach the point where you build your base. Once you’ve done that, progress it a bit more and you’ll meet Kallathor!
Kallathor is a Treefolk and will be found growing in your base. So, he (or she?) will be added to your party automatically as the story progresses. Now, don’t worry if you’ll miss this character because it’s automatic!
He’s a little tree guy and is very cute and without spoiling much his story is just adorable. You won’t regret following their story as you play the game! That’s how you can recruit Kallathor in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Kerrin
Introduced early in the game, lumberjack Kerrin requires only 20 pieces of lumber to prove that you’re willing to get your hands dirty and sweat some for the job. This simple request is an easy way to learn how recruiting works in the game as well as the Foraging mechanic. It is as simple as clicking a button to check anything that has the resource symbol pop up.
To find Kerrin, head into Dappled Forest and turn right. It’s a short dead end with only Kerrin’s log cabin there. After you initiate the quest, you can go and explore around the cabin. Just about any tree here will give you 5 lumber each when inspected.
To find Kerrin from the World Map, in Near Fated Crossing, find the Forest icon on the left side of the map. Before you run into it you can see the name of the area, you’re entering pop up. This is the Dappled Forest.
That’s how you can recruit Kerrin in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Kogen
Basically, you’ll have to keep on playing through the storyline and you’ll eventually end up having the choice whether to let Kogen join your party or not. Yep, it’s that simple. For more details, certain circumstances in the game’s storyline force you to relocate from your original base. Of course, you’re required to find a new stronghold.
In the said search, you’ll stumble upon Kogen’s fortress, which is pretty awesome considering the situation. He’s a good guy, and he’ll not only offer a place to stay but also his strategic prowess! He has a signature move which makes Cannonballs rain, and it’s very strong. Make sure not to miss out!
And that’s how you recruit Kogen in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Kurtz
First up, you’ll have to meet and talk to Kurtz in Hishahn. After conversating with the guy, he’ll then ask you to grab the “Grilled Tutuva Recipe.” For his exact location in the city, you can refer to the image below, fam.
After a series of dialogue, you should then make your way the The Treefolk Village to get the “Grilled Tutuva Recipe.” Refer to the image below for the right location.
NOTE: Keep in mind that you must first talk to Kurtz before proceeding to the next step. Otherwise, you won’t be able to get the Grilled Tutuva Recipe.
Once you get to the location, you’ll then have to talk to the Treefolk NPC shown in the image below. After a dialogue, it’ll give you the “Grilled Tutuva Recipe.”
After that, it’s a matter of returning to Kurtz and giving him the recipe you spent minutes fetching for. As a token of gratitude, he’ll join your party! Well done, my guy (Pun intended).
Yep, it’s that simple. And that’s how you recruit Kurtz in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and make him join your team.
Kuroto
In order to recruit Kuroto and add him to your party, you’ll have to complete a simple quest in the Capital of Grum County (lower-left side of the map) as shown in the image below.
Enter the Capital and make your way to the first left corner of the city. There, you’ll see Kuroto. Have a nice talk with him to activate his quest.
Once you’re done talking to him, make your way to the most eastern part of the Grump County map. Then, you’ll have to defeat and bag 5 Boars that you can farm on the mountainous areas. After you’re done with that, simply backtrack and talk to Kuroto again. Now, he can now join your party!
And that’s how you recruit Kuroto to your party in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Larla
When you meet Larla, she is going to give you a small quest. In order to fascinate her, you need to head to the Mission Guild and complete one of the mission objectives and get the ??? reward.
Unlocking that reward of the missions is not too difficult. You just need to do a good job while completing the mission. Plus, make it on time. There is a time limit on each Mission Guild mission that you should not go over.
Choose a good party for the mission and make sure that you have a good overall rating point before you begin. Now, most sources mentions that you need to get a critical success out of the quest you are completing. However, you do not actually have to get that. You can still recruit Larla even if you do not get a critical success.
Once you complete the mission with a good score and unlock the special reward, go to the inn at the Eltisweiss region of the map. Then, when you speak with her, just say that she has a place with you and Larla will join your party.
Marin
Marin is a sibling of another character named Wyler and they’re both experienced long ranged fighters. Marin can assist you in battle with her long-ranged spell caster. She’s also a healer, so you’ll definitely need one of those on the team.
To recruit Marin, you need to complete a quest in the Near Fated Crossing. These are the woods that are located southeast of your base. It’s called Bounty Hill.
To have Marin join your team, you need to first recruit her brother, Wyler. There is already a guide on how to recruit Wyler in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, so check it out!
After you’ve spoken to Wyler at the entrance, searched through the paths in the map above, found his sister Marin and defeated the monster, both Wyler and Marin should be ready to join you on the expedition for your cause.
Mariette
In order to recruit Mariette, you will need to complete a quest for her first. Speaking to her, she will tell you that she lost a charm of hers in the woods. While not explicitly stated which woods, it’s actually The Greatwood-South. Once there, simply run around until you get an enemy encounter with a special surprise.
Once you are in battle, keep an eye out for a chest, like this one in the image below. This is where the charm will be stashed in. You will have to attack the chest in order to get it to open, thus giving you Mariette’s charm back. I recommend attacking the chest until it opens before attacking the enemies. Also have a healer with you to heal you just in case you take too much damage.
Once you have the charm, get it back to Mariette and she will join you as the librarian in your castle base.
That’s all you need to know on how to recruit Mariette in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Martha
Martha is Nowa’s Aunt, and you need her to build a Pasturage, which eventually produces food and milk over time. Having her in your team increases the materials acquired from food ingredient nodes.
You can essentially take her along on your quests across the world as a Forager support member.
You can recruit Aunt Martha right after you’re done with the beginning basics of the game like finishing the tutorial, recruiting every member from the castle and when you’ve unlocked your base.
Here’s where to find Martha
Once you’ve reached the point in the story to unlock your home base town, you can go looking for Aunt Martha to recruit her.
She’s not a part of your main story and you won’t recruit her automatically, so you might have to stray away from the main game for a little while in pursuit of a new member.
After you’ve completed the introductory part of the game, like the cutscenes and when you’re allowed to free roam, players will be able to explore the town. Go to the eastern side of the town where the forestry looking area is.
You should see Aunt Martha standing there. Interact and talk to her. She will agree to leave her hometown and officially join the watch.
She will also be essentially to you moving forward because you need her pasturage to collect food and milk and because food is a valuable resource to unlock other parts of the town. So, that is how you get the resourceful old chatterbox named Martha!
Maureus
First things first, you are going to need to head to the Mountain Path Homeward. You will find Maureus casually hanging on the path and breaking some rocks with his magical strength.
When you interact with him, he is going to ask you to bring him a prodigious individual that oozes muscles points. What does that mean? Easy. Just add a character with more than 200 strength points and Maureus will agree to join your team.
The fastest way to increase the strength points of your characters is using runes. You can purchase the Rune of Almighty Power from the rune shop.
Once you bring someone with more than 200 strength points and interact with him again, Maureus will join your team!
Nell
Nell is a little creature that hangs around in a bag? (Or maybe he’s the bag itself?). You’re going to need Nell if you want to build yourself a Stowpack Shop in your HQ. Once you construct the Stowpack shop, it will automatically increase the capacity of your Stowpack and Resource Bag by +20 stacks.
Recruiting Nell is story related and you can find him in a place called Euchrisse. Aside from completing the main story campaign, there are no additional requirements you need to recruit this character.
You need to advance to the main campaign until Hishahn is unlocked for you and you can visit the place. Once you get to that city, you can immediately go and recruit Nell.
How to Get to Nell
You’d want to go into the town of Euchrisse first. Go all the way to the left until you reach the first turn in the town. Turn left or from your point of view it’s the top of the screen. And then from there turn left.
Now the bag is super easy to miss, so if you’ve been to this part of town before, chances are that you missed Nell the first time.
When you turn left, the first shop should have Nell hiding behind. So, interact with the bag and you’ll trigger a conversation with Nell. This way you can recruit Nell to your siege.
And there you go! The cute little mysterious creature who’s hiding in a bag is part of your team now! He’s a weird little thing but he can increase your storage capacity making him super useful.
Paquia & Mandie
You recruit Paquia and Mandie in Arenside after fulfilling their passion for eggs. First off, you need to find Paquia in Arenside after Hishahn story arc. Talk to her and she’ll gush over her Eggfoot. Enter Arenside and you’ll find her on the location indicated below.
She’ll ask for 5 Regular Eggs which you can grind from Egg creatures that spawn anywhere in the World map. You can also explore the Redthroat Ridge for them. You’ll have to run around for a bit for them.
Now go back to Paquia and give him the Regular Eggs. She’ll immediately want to join your party after that.
Mandie will pop up after she joins. He’ll be automatically asking to also be allowed to join the party as he was impressed. And that’s how you can recruit Paquia & Mandie in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Perrielle
Getting Perrielle is actually pretty easy. You don’t really need to do anything special as you meet Perrielle early on in the game. You then just have to play through the game until you reach a certain point in the story (will not explain to avoid spoilers), in which Perrielle will then become a playable character as she joins your party.
That’s all you need to know on how to recruit Perrielle in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Reyna
Each NPC that you can recruit in Eiyuden Chronicle will ask you to perform specific requirements to accept your offer. While some might just want you to bring them some materials like Syd, others might want to duel you into a battle. Reyna belongs to the latter kind.
Reyna is available for recruitment in the Dabavin village. The story takes you here soon after the Hishahn arc and after you cross the Shandar Ridge. Once there, you are going to notice a knight in black armor waiting to greet you near the dock.
Reyna expects you to completely fascinate her. Engaging with her triggers a practice fight in which you must do about 1,500 damage overall. During this battle you are going to have a three-turn restriction.
Forming a Team For the Battle
The length of the combat is strictly limited, so make sure you have the appropriate characters with you. We advise bringing both practical buffs and powerful heroes. As examples, consider:
- Team Example #1: For front row use Yusuke, Iugo, and Galdorf. For back row, Francesca, Milana, and Yuferius. Then for support, use Douglas.
- Team Example #2: Front; Nowa, Wayve and Iugo. Back; Momo, Isha, and Marisa.
It is also important to have good runes and runeshards with you.
- Runes: Rune of Fire Enhancement and Rune of Mighty Power (or Rune of Power if you do not have this one)
- Runeshards: Runeshard of Darkness II or Runeshard of Darkness III.
You have to make effective use of your turns if you want to defeat Reyna. That implies that you have to use your turn to either attack, use a skill, or perform a spell. Make her more vulnerable to physical damage by thinking of equipping your heroes with abilities that reduce her armor.
Just like this, go and interact with Reyna and you are going to win the battle against her easily. This is how to recruit Reyna in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. You can now add the almighty Dark Knight to your team!
Riufan
Recruiting Riufan is pretty simple and only has one requirement. And the requirement is that you must be level 32 or higher. If you are under leveled, he will simply not acknowledge you and nothing will happen after talking to him.
Once you reach level 32, go to Hishahn and then you will be able to find Riufan standing in the location marked below.
Once you get there, go to Riufan and talk to him. You will get a cutscene here in which the old man will appear drunk and say that despite his old age, he can still teach you a thing or two. After the cutscene is over, you will engage in a duel with him.
Since you are at level 32 (or maybe higher), defeating him should be a cakewalk for you. After you defeat him, you will get a dialogue option, select “Let’s join forces” and Riufan will join your party.
Sabine
Sabine is described as a Pragmatic Guard in the game. She is great for short-range combat with her melee weapons. Sabine is a character that you cannot recruit immediately instead it is based on time and is story-related.
To recruit Sabine, you need to progress in the main story quest line you are currently on. Once you complete the quest line,Sabine should automatically join during the Siege of Eltisweiss.
When will she officially show up to be a part of our team?
As mentioned previously, she is part of a specific quest and you should get her for free when you complete the quest.
She’ll show up after recruiting some allies for the Watch. Once you’re past that, you’ll be asked to check the inn. There, you’ll meet up with Sabine.
You won’t recruit her the first time you meet her. As the story progresses, she will ultimately join you and then leave you again. Initially, you don’t get much time with her but when she comes back a few hours later, you won’t let her again and she will join your crew officially.
So, there you have it! You now have the impressive pragmatic guard named Sabine as part of your team of recruits.
Shixeen
Shixeen is one of the easier characters you can recruit in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. The gist is that you have to beat her at cards to gain her respect, so I’ll detail how to do this below.
Finish The Hishan Story and Beat Glen
The first prerequisite you need to finish is the Hishahn Story Arc. Yes, this means finishing the storylines that take place here from the main quest line. Don’t worry as it’s pretty straightforward.
After you finish the quests, return to Arenside and talk to Glen. Beat him at cards.
Glen will join your party as a result. Sweet!
Build The Card Shop
Now that you’ve beaten Glen, head to HQ and buy some extra pack upgrades. You can purchase extra pack upgrades 4 times so it’s advisable to buy all 4 if you can afford it. Now that you have all this space, buy as many card packs as you can until you get 120 different cards.
Buy the extra pack and special card packs to get a better variety of cards. The Special Card packs sell for 2000 coins each, so make sure you have a lot of gold saved up.
Find Shixeen
Once you have 120 cards, leave and wait a while. Pass the time by exploring the city or doing other missions. When a decent amount of time has passed, return to the Card Shop and Shixeen should be there.
Now it’s simple enough. Just challenge her to a card duel and beat her! This duel is a lot harder than the one against Glen, but with a bit of luck, you should be able to take her out.
And that’s it! Recruiting Shixeen in Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes is a pretty simple task, but there are more characters out there to unlock in the game.
Squash
In the Treefolk Village, there’s a certain fascinating bird character named Squash that you can recruit to your team. You can find him after finishing the proving grounds.
When you go, speak to Squash and discuss recruiting him, before he agrees, he’ll bring up a certain exquisitely made, rune cut brooch. He’ll mention how he would like to replicate with his own craftsmanship. However, he lacks the resources, being a Sparklestone.
So, here’s what you need to do get the Sparklestone:
- Go to the Dappled Forest;
- Fight a Phantom Bird until it drops a Sparkle Stone;
- Take the Stone to Squash and recruit him into your team.
I’ll explain in detail how to achieve each of these tasks.
Let’s go get the Sparklestone
What you need to do first is head to your base and go to the little woods near it called Dappled Forest.
You can even view the map to see information about various places. Go to the middle part of the forest and run around or wait until the Phantom Bird spawns in a battle.
Once you defeat the Phantom Bird, it should drop a Sparkle Stone. However, we can’t say for certain that you’ll get a Sparkle Stone in your first try. It’s a rare monster drop, and it may take you a couple of tries. Your mileage may vary from other players.
You can know you’ve got the stone if it appears in the “Obtained item(s)” section of the Results screen.
Here’s how to increase your chances
If you’d like to increase your chances of getting a Sparkle Stone from the Phantom Bird, here’s what you need to do:
Before going for the Sparkle Stone, head for a chest that’s located near the end of The Seaside Cavern in Euchrisse. The chest will contain a Lucky Badge accessory. When you equip it, the possibility of monster drops increases. This will boost your Sparkle Stone drop chance.
Once you have your stone, it’s time to take it back to Squash, so he can make his brooch and finally join your team!
Sumire
In order to recruit Sumire, you will only have to play until you finally unlock the base. Sumire is one of the many people you meet early in the game but can’t recruit. It’s only after you unlock the base is when Sumire can be recruited. She’s essentially a character you can’t miss, as she is part of the story.
That’s all you need to know on how to recruit Sumire in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Syd
Most players will probably have the opportunity to meet Syd far in advance of their ability to recruit him. This is due to the fact that you may locate him quickly after reaching Hishahn. You can talk to him when he is hanging out in the town near the blacksmith shop, but all he tells you is a general idea of how to convince him to join the team.
Luckily, it is not actually that difficult to meet the requirements to invite Syd. All you have to do is make sure the headquarters at your home base in Castle Town is level three or above. Once you have fulfilled this prerequisite, go talk to Syd in order to immediately invite him to the party.
Of course, the job is not finished yet. After you speak with Syd, he will ask you to bring him iron ore, mystic lumber and dire beastbone. Check out the list below to see how to get each of these materials.
- Iron Ore: You can find the iron ore in Redthroat Ridge. It is located at the location that we have marked on the map below.
- Mystic Lumber: In order to find this material, you should head to the Dappled Forest. Once again, check out the map below to see the exact location.
- Dire Beastbone: This material can be found in the Bounty Hill. Check out the map below one last time. Then, you will be done with collecting materials.
After collecting all three items, just go back to Syd and he will join your team. Just like this, you will have one more character in your party.
These are everything you need to do to recruit Syd in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Wyler
In order to recruit Wyler, the Archer, you must complete a quest for him in Near Fated Crossing (the woods located southeast of your base).
Once you get there, you’ll have to navigate through the maze-like terrain as shown on the map: head left, then right, and finally go up to the leftmost area. There, you’ll see Wyler’s sister under attack by a monster. Of course, you’ll have to save his sister and Wyler will gratefully join your ranks! Simple as that, my guy.
And that’s how you recruit Wyler in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Ymir
In order to recruit Ymir, you will need to play through the game. That’s it. That’s all you need to do. You actually meet Ymir really early in the game, but he isn’t recruitable just yet. It’s only when you reach the point in the story when you unlock the castle base is when you get to recruit Ymir. Essentially, he’s a story character that gets automatically recruited, so he’s impossible to miss.
That’s all you need to know on how to recruit Ymir in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Yume & Friend
Yume and Friend are available for recruit as a pair after you help their grandmother find them in Grum County. To start the quest, head into Werne Village in Grum County once you’re done with the Abandoned Mine quest.
Once you enter, turn left and you’ll immediately see Yume’s grandmother. Talk to her and she’ll tell you that Yume and Friend are missing. And she needs your help to find Yume who “went into the mountains” and hasn’t returned.
Yume isn’t really that far. You can find her hiding in Redthroat Ridge. It is in the easternmost area of Grum County. Just make your way there and upon entering, you’ll immediately meet Yume. You don’t have to go very far, the dialogue will begin as soon as you enter and approach her.
And just like that, you’ll be able to recruit Yume and Friend into your ranks in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Yuthus
Yuthus is a character that you can recruit if you keep following the main storyline. He comes as a set of trio with Zabi and Kogen. Though your first encounter is not where you can recruit him! Anything pass this is spoiler territory, so if you want to experience yourself, now’s time to play the game.
You meet Yuthus first in the Abandoned Mine, at the end of the tunnel as part of a boss fight.
During your first meeting with the gang, things got off the wrong foot as you falsely accused them of a robbery case. Though they did kick up some ruse with the village nearby because their own smaller one needed some food. Eventually, they came clean and thanked you as they averted the crisis of starvation.
Later, during the Eltisweiss war arc, Kogen will come to offer help to your team. You’ll eventually establish the Headquarters near their old hideout. Once you do, this unlocks recruiting for many characters including Yuthus, Zabi, and Kogen.
Did you know that you can also use the special Hero Combo ability “Kogen Boys Combo” with the trio? At the cost of 3 SP, they’ll boost the team’s defense for 3 turns while reducing the enemy’s defense. That is how you can recruit Yuthus in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes!
Yusuke
Melee character Yusuke is available for recruit after you head into Fort Xialuke and save him. Fort Xialuke is a place that you can visit when you reach Grum County. He’s also easily a character you see when you follow the main story to explore this location.
Yusuke is an easy choice to hire as the quest asks for you to look for more members to recruit. After defending Yusuke from the accusations that he was the bandit who attacked the village, he’ll be interested to join you.
The guards will leave him alone and Yusuke will be happy to join your ranks. Make sure to choose “Welcome to the ranks.” when the choice pops up in the dialogue. Then, you’ll see him in your party!
All you have to do is just enter Fort Xialuke and that’s how you can meet the Big Dreamer! Yusuke. That’s how you can get the “grapple” damage character Yusuke in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Zabi
If you don’t want to be spoiled, Zabi is a character that you recruit as part of the main story. So if you keep playing, eventually he’ll join your party. Now anything after is spoiler territory!
Zabi is a character you meet at the end of the Abandoned Mines. While investigating for the series of theft and robbery happening to the village on the surface, you encounter the trio: Zabi, Kogen, and Yuthus.
Your first encounter ends up in a boss fight where you’ll drag them out because of their crimes. But at the same time, you save the people they’ve been trying to feed with the food they’ve been stealing. It ends on a good note as they thank you for acting as their liaison of sorts.
The second encounter when you own your Headquarters is where you can recruit them. You’ll see the opportunity to add them to your party during the Eltisweiss war arc where Kogen will come and help out.
You’ll establish the Headquarters where the trio used to set up their main basecamp at. And along with Zabi, the other two will also become available to recruit. There are also several characters you can unlock in similar way like Sumire and Ymir. And that’s how you can recruit Zabi in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Summing things up
And that’s how you recruit all the characters in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. We’re aware that the guide is not yet complete, but we’re currently working on adding all of them. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to leave them in the comments section below.
