It was only a matter of time until players started wondering if they could get a different mode of transportation aside from the broom in Hogwarts Legacy.

Sure flying around the valley can be quite an experience but wouldn’t it be better if you were using something a bit more regal? Like a hippogriff!

If Harry was able to ride one then why not you?

Luckily, getting one is easy as it’s part of a series of quests that you need to work on while progressing. Not only that but there are others you can mount as well!

Hogwarts Legacy | How to Unlock Flying Mount

To get your first mount, you will need to go through the main quest line.

Some of these quests include the Beast Class that you will take from Professor Howin. This is where you’ll first see the hippogriff that Poppy is taking care of from time to time.

You have to be at level 17 to do this quest as well.

The quest name you’ll be looking for is The High Keep.

You’ll have to talk to Natsai Onai over at the far eastern side of Hogsmeade Valley.

After talking to her, approach the gate and head off the path to the right coming from the bridge. You’ll see some cages stacked here, so go ahead and climb up.

After climbing up you’ll see a large chest locked behind a gate.

You’ll need to cast Wingardium Leviosa on the chest to climb to the next section of the castle.

Your next obstacle will be the gate itself, Accio and Depulso are your friends here. Cast those a few times to hold the gate in place and Natsai will join you shortly.

Go up the keep more and you’ll encounter some poachers.

The first one you’ll find knows nothing about your presence so go ahead and do what is needed and push the fellow off a cliff.

Once you’re done dealing with more poachers and dark wizards you’ll come across some Puffskeins. Bag them home using your Nab-sack and keep climbing.

When you get to the top, a cutscene will play where you barely make it out of the tallest tower alive as one of the poachers will cast a nasty spell your way. It misses though, so all is well!

After being given a cinematic experience while riding around Hogwarts Valley, the game will now let you summon Highwing whenever you’re outside exploring.

You can unlock more mounts at this point as a bonus if you pre-ordered the game.

And that’s it! The mission is pretty straightforward, make sure you explore every nook and cranny of the keep so you don’t miss out on loot. No one is going to come looking for them once you’re done with the place.

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
