Lies of P: Should You Kill or Spare Alidoro

Lies of P is a souls-like game with a lot of challenging boss fights and mechanics, but along with that, it also has a pretty riveting story and compelling characters that you’ll meet throughout the game. Among them is Alidoro, who will eventually give you a reason to kill him. But should you actually do that or not?

Following a certain point in the story, you’ll learn that Alidoro had a hand in the attack on Hotel Krat. If you exhaust the dialogue choices, you’ll also find out the truth about his real identity.

At this point, you’ll gain the option to attack Alidoro. If you choose this option, he’ll insult you and tell you that you can’t harm anyone who isn’t trying to hurt you.

Unfortunately for him, you do in fact have the option to kill him, quite easily too. So, what happens if you spare or kill him?

Spare Alidoro

Sparing Alidoro does not really do much aside from possibly locking you out of certain outcomes and some bits of lore. If you refuse to kill him, he’ll stay in the spot he’s standing in and will continue to sell you his wares.

This will also prevent you from progressing some of the achievements, so if you’re a completionist, you may want to avoid this option.

Kill Alidoro

Killing him is overall the better option. Doing this will grant you some humanity, which you may want depending on the ending you’re trying to get.

You’ll also receive his Cryptic Vessel. This item reveals more information about the real Alidoro, who the fake one killed, and this also progresses Eugenie’s side quest.

Upon his death, he’ll be replaced by Hugo, who will continue selling some of the offerings that were previously unique to Alidoro. Because of this, you’re further justified in not keeping him around.

In conclusion, you should absolutely kill Alidoro in both your first run and in a repeat playthrough, as you can get two different records from Eugenie for doing so, both of which you will need for one of the game’s achievements.
