Limbus Company – Fundamentals Guide

That’s a lot of numbers!

There’s a new Gacha game in town and it’s Limbus Company, a game made by ProjectMoon, the developers of its prequel Library of Ruina and the prequel to that which is Lobotomy Corporation. From the looks of the previous game you can already tell that this isn’t a simple Gacha game, it can get a bit more complicated than just rolling for waifus/husbandos and hitting things with a stick. There’s a lot of mechanics to learn and the combat is not simple at all, so in this guide we’ll show you the fundamentals in playing Limbus Company, for those new players out there.

Fundamentals Guide | Limbus Company

Limbus Company is a complex game, a lot of players who first tried the game can attest to that. The has a lot of mechanics to learn about, from the basics of combat to team building and affinities. This can be daunting for new players but I assure you that learning the game can be quite fun and once you learn the basics things will be a breeze. Here are some things you need to know when playing the game.

Combat Complexity

In our combat guide we talk about how combat works in the game in the simplest way as possible for new players. We’re going to the nitty gritty of combat though with clashes. When you choose a skill in combat your unit can have a clash with an enemy, on top of the screen you’ll see the stats of the clash.

In the combat guide we said that the bigger the number the better. When you’re starting the game you should look for the “Favored” or “Dominating” clashes and that should get you through most of the game. Learning about how clashes work is another matter.

Using the image above, 5/11 is the lowest and highest rolls you can get, roll higher than an enemy and you get to attack. The 4 next to the 100% is your base damage and the number to the left is the damage added if the coin lands on heads. Yes, when you attack you flip a coin, when it lands on head the attack is better.

Now you know more about clashes in the game which is the main thing you’ll do in combat. Now you’ll need to learn the rest with our team building guide and our basic mechanics guide to learn more about the game. I did warn you, the game can be complicated!
