Lords of the Fallen is an upcoming action RPG that so far seems like a worthy addition to the souls-like genre. It’s both a remake and a sequel of the game of the same name that was originally released in 2014, and what they’ve shown seems promising. Having said all that, what exactly do we currently know about this new souls-like?

Everything We Know

Developed by Hexworks, Lords of the Fallen is made using Unreal Engine 5, which means that it will feature immersive graphics and highly customizable characters with seamlessly fitting armor sets and accessories.

The game will be available on PC, as well as the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. It will also feature two player co-op gameplay, as well as PVP in the form of invasions, which will likely work the same way as in other souls-like games.

Lords of the Fallen gameplay

Lords of the Fallen will have two parallel worlds to explore as you work towards overthrowing the demon god Adyr. These are Axiom and Umbral, the realms of the living and the dead, respectively.

Both worlds are connected through the Umbral Lamp, which can be used to reveal secret treasure or new paths for you to cross throughout your adventure.

Tons of Choices

There will be a wide range of customization options for the appearance of your character, and there are nine different starting classes to choose from.

Lords of the Fallen class

Regardless of your chosen class, you are given the freedom to upgrade your equipment and stats in a way that is tailored to your playstyle.

The game also features a vast arsenal of weapons, including bows, spears, axes, swords, and more.

Aside from that, there are also multiple schools of magic that you can take advantage of, which give mage players a lot of choices if they wish to forego the use of physical weapons.

Length of the Game

According to the developers, the game will take players about an average of 25 to 30 hours to finish a single playthrough, though this number can get much higher for completionists who wish to finish any optional content and other secrets.

Lords of the Fallen NPC

Those who play in another player’s world may also have an extended playtime, as co-op partners will reportedly have limitations in terms of loot and experience gained.

And that’s everything we know so far about Lords of the Fallen. As of writing this, the game is quickly closing in on its release date, and we’ll learn everything else about it soon!
