Moonbreaker: Complete Beginner’s Guide

Learning the ropes!

There has been a lack of turn-based PVP games these days, and after hearing about the new game Moonbreaker it seems like we have a new game in the genre! Moonbreaker is a Turn-based, digital tabletop tactics game where you create small armies of miniatures as you fight other players or AI. The setting of the game is Sci-fi with a large selection of interesting units you can try and build your army around, although in the game they’re called a crew. In this article we’ll show you the basics of this new turn-based tactics game!

Complete Beginner’s Guide For Moonbreaker

In Moonbreaker you get to make your own crew which consists of a few units along with a captain. This captain is an important unit since if the captain dies you automatically lose the game. Now, I know what you’re thinking.

What stops you from placing your captain at the back line? Well, it’s because your captain is also one of the stronger units in the game, so it’s a waste to let them chill at the back.

The game can be daunting to a new player since at the start you don’t know what the different units do. For those who want to test the game out first before customizing stuff, you can pick a premade roster and play against the AI. You can also make your own roster which is where the fun starts.

There are loads of units you can add to your roster as well as a handful of captains to choose from. The best advice to give is see what each unit does and try to build around synergies of different units.

At the start of the game, you get to choose a set of assists. These are random so it’s best not to build your roster around them. For beginners, the ones that deal damage is the best and simplest ones.

After choosing your assist you can then start the game. Each player starts with their captain, and they can use the crew button at the lower left to spawn more crew. Spawning crew uses cinder though and this is your main resource in the game.

You gain cinder as the turns go by, and you can save up 3 till the next turn. So if you have more than 3 cinders it’s best to use the 1 cinder or it’ll be wasted.

You can also check the stats of each unit in the board by just clicking on them. You can also see their movement range by hovering over them, so that’s great if you want to know where the movement range of melee characters are so you can plan ahead.

The assists work in cooldowns, that means you can use them both on the same turn but they’ll be unavailable for multiple turns since there’s a cooldown.

Your goal is to take out the enemy captain and win the game, simple as that!

Congratulations you now know the basics of Moonbreaker, now go out there and build your crew and defeat your enemies!
