Naraka Bladepoint has recently gone free to play after years of being available for purchase, and many players are jumping in to experience this game. But they will soon find out that there are some things that have been recently added to the game. Besides new characters, Naraka Bladepoint has a new map that features a mechanic that has depth behind it: the weather effects. These weather effects aren’t just for show, and you will find out in this guide that talks about everything you need to know about the new weather effects in Naraka Bladepoint.
Weather Effects Explained
The weather effects in the game are only exclusive to the new Holoroth map that was added in recently. However, there are a couple of things you need to know about the weather effects in the game that are essentially “universal rules”:
- Weather effects can spawn temporary stashes that you can retrieve if you are brave enough to jump into the deadly weather.
- There is a 30 second warning that will be given to you and everyone else in the map before a weather effect takes place.
Snowstorm Weather
First on the list is the Snowstorm weather. This weather effect has a rare chance to spawn, and when it does spawn, it has a duration of 4 minutes. You can tell which spots in the map is affected by the Snowstorm weather by seeing the areas that are covered in blue. Now to survive the Snowstorm, you will need to find campfires that are spread out throughout the area to keep warm. Bear in mind that the Snowstorm weather effect can only really happen in the northern snowy part of the map.
Now if you are caught in the Snowstorm, you will be affected by the Cold debuff. Now it may not seem all that much, but once you hit a certain point of staying in the cold and not taking refuge at a nearby campfire, the Cold debuff will then start affecting your Ultimate Charge, draining it by 1% every second.
Howling Gale
Next up is the Howling Gale. This weather effect spawns commonly in the desert part of the map. You will know that you are in the weather effect when you look at your map and see the yellow area. Just like the Snowstorm, it only lasts for 4 minutes. But unlike the Snowstorm, it does not give you any debuffs whatsoever.
Instead, you will be able to wall climb much effective, similar to the Gecko Foot’s effect. Not only that, but your grappling distance will be significantly increased, allowing you to get across the map in a much faster rate.
Ghostly Mist
We now have the Ghostly Mist, which spawns commonly all over the map and lasts for 4 minutes. While the first two weather effects don’t do damage, this one does. Ghostly Mist makes ghostly hands appear from the ground. Stepping on theses ghostly hands will damage you and inflict you with a Silence debuff.
However, you can also use these to your advantage. Using ranged weapons, you can shoot the ghostly hands when an enemy player is near it, inflicting damage and Silence on them. It is also possible to trigger the ghostly hands with a melee attack without getting damaged by dodging just as you attack, but you will still be inflicted with Silence.
Meteor Rain
Lastly, we have the Meteor Rain. This is the best and worst weather effects in the game. This has a rare chance to spawn anywhere on the map, and it can be indicated by a purple color that covers a small portion of the map. This lasts only for 90 seconds and it’s important to get to this weather effect as soon as possible.
Reason being is that when the meteors hit the ground, they do large amounts of damage to anyone who is withing range. This is why the Meteor Rain is the worst, but it is also the best, because once the meteor hits the ground, it leaves behind a large Stardust orb that once hit, it will grant anyone who is near the orb a 10% Ultimate Charge.
