Once Human: How To Emote Guide

It’s time to express yourself!

Once Human encourages you to cooperate not only with friends but with other players that you come across in servers. This is especially the case in PvE servers, where you may inevitably have to work with players you don’t know. In such cases, communicating with them can help.

This is where being able to emote can be useful. Besides that, it is also a fun way to mess around in Once Human. But how exactly can you emote in the game? We’ll show you exactly how you can do it in this guide. Let’s get into it!

How To Emote Guide

Keep in mind that if you’re just starting out, you’ll only be able to use emotes that you have currently unlocked. There are quite a few of them that you’ll need to unlock in Once Human.

However, there are still a decent number of emotes that you have access to at the start. To be able to emote in Once Human, here are the steps that you need to follow:

  1. Navigate to the Cosmetics tab in your menu
  2. Select the Expressions option to view your emotes
  3. Drag the emotes from the menu into the Scroll Wheel
  4. Use the Scroll Wheel in game to select an expression to activate the emote.

Navigate To Expressions Menu

Being able to emote is a bit unnecessarily complicated in Once Human. Starting off, you’ll need to go into the Expressions menu, which is this game’s version of Emotes.

To do this, press the I button to go into your Inventory menu. From here, select the Cosmetics tab at the top of the menu. In the Cosmetics menu, look towards the left corner. You’ll see two sub tabs here. Select the one that says Expressions.

This will list out all the emotes, or expressions, that you currently have in Once Human. Many of them will be locked, but you’ll still have quite a few available from the start. Additionally, there will be a scroll wheel on the right side.

Assign Emotes

Now that you know where all the emotes in Once Human are, it’s time to assign them. To do this, you’ll need to drag the emote that you want to use on the scroll wheel. The scroll wheel has 8 slots, labeled from 1-8.

So, you can assign up to 8 emotes at a time. Drag any emotes that you want onto the scroll wheel into whichever slot you are comfortable with. You’ll also be able to preview the emotes by clicking on them. This will help you select which one you want to use in Once Human.

Use Emote Scroll Wheel

Once the emotes have been assigned, you can exit the menu and return to the game. To be able to emote whenever you’re in game, press the X button. This will open up the Scroll Wheel with all the emotes you assigned on it.

Simply select the expression you want to activate on the scroll wheel, and you’ll emote accordingly. You can also assign any future emotes you unlock on the scroll wheel and use them in the same way.

That’s everything you need to know about emoting in Once Human. Now you can use any cool emotes you unlock with your friends and strangers you come across in servers.
