Once Human has all sorts of deviations that help you around the base or even accompany you out in the field, with each having wildly varying abilities. One such deviant that you can farm is but a simple Snow Globe, which is a crafting type entity that allows you to passively generate materials for a special tactical item. Here’s how to get one of these little guys!
How to Get Snow Globe Deviant
Obtaining the Snow Globe deviation is a relatively simple and straightforward process that will only require a bit of your time. Just make sure that you are at least around level 45 or above to get through it smoothly.
Basically, you need to clear the Securement Silo – Psi dungeon to the southeast of the Forsaken Monolith. It is on the border between Red Sands and Chalk Peak, and it’s always marked in the map, so you should be able to find it easily.
Once there, run the normal difficulty version of the dungeon to complete it as fast as possible. I am unsure if this affects the drop rate or potential level of the deviant, but your runs will at least be really easy.

Unlike some of the other deviants that come as random drops from dungeons, the Snow Globe merely requires you to beat the silo boss for a chance to get it. Because of this, you don’t really need to be guided into a seepage zone.
Just run through the fairly linear and easy to navigate dungeon until you make it to the boss, Empty House. It is an easy boss to beat, and the only thing you have to keep in mind are the following:
- When it becomes immune to damage, follow the glowing wires to find which generator you are being asked to destroy.
- Upon reaching the specified generator, use one of the nearby ice shards to break the barrier and destroy the machine inside with your weapons.
- Repeat this cycle until the boss has no HP left.
- NOTE: Each time you get a generator phase, some of the frozen Rosetta units in the arena will become active. These will become increasingly difficult, as elites will start thawing too.
Once you have beaten the animated fridge, you will get a treasure chest on top of the mound of snow it stood on. If you’re lucky, the Snow Globe might appear beside your loot.
If it didn’t show up for you, you’ll just have to run through the entire dungeon again. For the purposes of this article, it took me only three runs to get it to show up, but your mileage may vary.
What Does the Snow Globe Do?
Placing a Snow Globe into one of your isolated securement units for the first time will unlock the recipe for snowballs. These can be crafted at a supplies workbench of any tier, at least I assume it should work with even the lowest one.
The Snow Globe itself will passively generate some snowdust over time, with eight pieces of this needed for a single snowball. Place it near a fridge and under blue light to speed up its regeneration and, consequently, its ability to produce snowdust.
Snowballs are basically throwable items that can slow your target down and potentially freeze them for a few seconds if you can hit three consecutive balls. This can be pretty useful against some elite enemies, or maybe even PVP if you’re brazen enough to try and use these on people.
Aside from that, I’d like to think that its only real use will be to mess around with friends and random people out in the wild.
It isn’t particularly good due to how it is inefficient in PVE and just plain outclassed by simply shooting the other player in a PVP situation. This is particularly true with how a lot of players use builds that can one shot you.
And that is pretty much everything you need to know about this particular deviant in the game, as well as what it is used for. While you’re here, check out our guide on how to get the grumpy bulb deviant in Once Human for a more useful PVE combat companion!
