Once Human: Unfinished Expedition Quest Guide

There are plenty of quests that you can do in the expansive world of Once Human. Most of them are fairly straightforward. However, at times, you’ll be tasked to locate certain items in various locations. One quest that does this is the Unfinished Expedition Quest.

In this guide, we’ll show you how you can complete the Unfinished Expeditation Quest. This includes how you can get to Wild Dog Isle Outpost and where you can find all the Rosetta research documents. Let’s get into it!

Unfinished Expedition Quest Guide

The Unfinished Expedition Quest is a fairly straightforward quest. The only part that can get confusing is getting all the 3 Rosetta documents. This is because two of these locations are tied to puzzles.

Here is a breakdown of all the objectives you’ll need to complete for the Unfinished Expedition quest in Once Human:

1. Go to the top of the Lighthouse
2. Read the Expedition Notes
3. Glide to Wild Dog Isle Outpost from the Lighthouse
4. Locate the 3 Rosetta Documents
5. Return to Claire or Maxie to complete the quest.

Go to Top of Lighthouse

When you obtain the Unfinished Expedition quest, you’ll need to go to a particular location in Once Human. This is the Lighthouse at the edge of the coast, near Wild Dog Isle Outpost.

So, make your way to the Lighthouse. The location for it is shown on the Once Human map below.

When you get there, enter the Lighthouse and go all the way to the top floor.

Here, you’ll find some Expedition Notes that you can read. When you do so, you’ll have to locate 3 Rosetta Documents on Wild Dog Isle Outpost.

These 3 Rosetta Documents are: Environmental Security Records, Medical Records and Army Records.

You can get there directly by jumping from the balcony at the top of the Lighthouse. Glide all the way there to continue with the Unfinished Expedition quest.

Rosetta Document #1 Location – Environmental Security Records

For the first Unfinished Expedition document, you’ll need to get to the ship in the sea near Wild Dog Isle Outpost. So, go to the location that we have marked on the map below.

When you get here, you’ll be on the edge of some docks near the ship. At the end of the docks, you’ll see a large tower that goes all the way up. Get to the top of it by climbing the ladder.

After you reach the top, jump off the tower and glide towards the ship. You should be able to comfortably get there.

Once you land on the ship, go to the front end of it. Here, you should be able to find the first Rosetta document.

Rosetta Document #2 Location – Medical Records

For the next document location, you’ll be heading to the center of the Wild Dog Isle Outpost. This location is shown on the Once Human map below.

Here, there is a Rosetta facility that you want to go inside. There are multiple entrances to this facility. You can go through the door at the back shown in the image below:

It’ll have the number 02 on it.

When you enter inside, make your way upstairs using the stairs near the front entrance.

You’ll spot the second Rosetta document for the Unfinished Expedition quest on the table. Interact with it to pick it up.

However, there is a puzzle that you’ll actually need to complete to be able to read this document. So, after interacting, you’ll be taken to the puzzle screen.

This puzzle is actually fairly straightforward. The three options that you see on the right are used to rotate the circles in the puzzle.

Your goal is to rotate all the circles until all the colors are lined up at the bottom. Each circle is used to rotate one of the colors.

Once the colors are lined up, the puzzle will be solved. Now, you’ll be able to read the document and get the second document ticked off.

Rosetta Document #3 Location – Army Records

For the final Unfinished Expedition quest document, you’ll need to head to the location on Wild Dog Isle Outpost shown below on the Once Human map.

This area is at the top of the Wild Dog Isle Outpost and can be accessed using the ramp from the center of the area. Once you reach this area, you’ll see a small building with a green container.

You will need to do another puzzle here. If you look closely, you’ll see two halves of an image with one on the building and the other on the green container. Your goal is to line both of these images up.

This puzzle can be a bit frustrating as the images will seem to line up and yet nothing will happen. For this one, you’ll need to go back until you are touching the fence.

Doing so will ensure that both halves are the same size.

Once they line up, the entrance to the door will appear. Keep trying different distances at the angle and you should be able to get the puzzle right. If you’re even a little too close or little too far, the puzzle won’t get solved.

Enter through the door and you’ll find the final document on the table. Read through it and you’re done with the Unfinished Expedition quest. Now all you need to do is turn it in.

Turn In Quest

To turn in the quest, you’ll need to head back to either Claire or Maxie. The location for where you can turn the quest in is shown on the Once Human map below.

Talk to either of the NPCs when you get here. Doing so will conclude the Unfinished Expedition quest for Once Human.
