Onikami Legacy is a Roblox game heavily inspired by the widely popular Demon Slayer anime and manga franchise, and with a huge new update being released recently, players are flocking to see what it is all about. In this guide, we will teach you some of the basics, including how you can reach the highest possible level (at the moment) as fast as possible!

Complete Beginner’s Guide & How to be Max Level Fast

Before you do anything, it is highly recommended that you open the settings menu and turn on Seconds Cooldowns for a slight quality of life upgrade. Also, feel free to check the keybinds to learn the controls.

Once that’s done, click on the shopping cart icon to open the store tab. Here, you can redeem codes for various rewards. Below is a list of codes that still work as of writing this, as well as what they do:

Starting Out – Final Selection and More

When you first spawn into the game, you will see an NPC with a cyan question mark above their head. You should speak with this NPC so that you can receive the quest to acquire an old Nichirin Katana.

As the instructions state, you can find the Nichirin Katana at the house past the waterfall. As soon as you accept the quest, there will be a gold quest marker in your screen, so just follow that to find the sword’s location!

Once you get to the house, just click on the Katana to purchase it and add it to your inventory. Make sure to turn off shift lock if you are having trouble clicking on it!

Once you have it, your goal now is to reach level 15 so you can start the Final Selection. To do this, you will have to kill demons scattered all throughout the wilderness. Simply leave the town and you should find them randomly during night time.

They are basically named NPCs that will try to fight you as soon as you walk close. They also have the “Biryoku” tag above their names, so watch out for those while you run around.

Avoid demons above Biryoku for now, as they will obliterate you within seconds. They are beatable at a low level, but it is just not worth the time doing so.

If it is currently day time, you will need to find a cave to fight demons, as they will only spawn out in the open at night. You will just have to keep fighting them until you reach level 15, and you can check your progress by looking at the number between the health and breathing bars.

If your server is currently at day time, there is a cave connected to the starting village. Just follow the yellow lanterns along the road leading outside the walls, and you should be able to find it.

Training Breathing

When you reach level 10, you should get a breathing style, as this is also required for the Final Selection later on. You can get the water breathing style from the old man inside the house where you got the Nichirin Katana.

There are others that you can get as well, but they will have varying requirements and the trainers are much further away. You will just have to find them through exploration!

TIP: Beast Breathing can also be found just north of the starting village, past the cave. You will see Inosuke hanging out on top of a rock along the road!

Once you find yourself needing to train breathing, you should follow the signs along the road until you reach Butterfly Estate, which has purple trees all around it. Here, you can buy three different gourds, and you should start with the small one.

What you need to do here is hold G to breathe and then click when the bar is full. Keep repeating this until each gourd breaks.

This will take a long time to finish, but completing all gourds will be worth it. This will make it so that your breathing bar will go up faster and also drain slower. There aren’t any other buffs that come with it aside from these, but these will be a huge game changer in combat.

The Final Selection

Upon reaching level 15, you can now start the Final Selection by speaking to Hikaru just north of the starting village. After that, you will have to head to the actual Final Selection spot. Refer to the map image below for directions from the starter village.

There, you will get the Final Selection quest, which is to simply kill 20 demons. This should be light work for you by now, so just go and grind it out and keep breathing into your gourds if you still haven’t finished them.

Getting a Nichirin

Once you have completed the Final Selection and have officially become a demon slayer, you can now get your own Nichirin Katana at the Swordsmith Village. In the map image below, the Swordsmith Village is highlighted with a red box.

There, you will have to find an NPC named Fumio to start the quest to make your very own katana. He will ask you to gather some Nichirin Ore from the mountains.

Just follow the golden exclamation mark as you did earlier when you first acquired the old katana, then return to Fumio to receive your own newly-made blade!

If you are unsatisfied with its appearance, there are NPCs that can let you reroll for a different look and position. These are merely cosmetic and have no bearing on the blade’s power.

Once all of this is done, all that’s left to do at the moment is to continue leveling up. Basically, just keep slaying demons and taking quests from the NPC at Dunas Village for slightly more experience.

With a breathing style and your own blade in tow, you should be able to breeze through crowds of demons and rise to the top levels in no time!

That is pretty much everything you need to know in order to get started in the game, as well as how you can level up as fast as possible with what is currently available.
