Outerplane is an anime-style turn-based game revolving around strategic combat and a lot of gacha pulling. Having said that, there are a ton of characters to collect and upgrade throughout your ingame career. This tier list will rank all the heroes in terms of their overall usefulness. Take note that this is a purely subjective list based on varying people’s opinions.
Best Characters Tier List 2023
Outerplane has a variety of game modes, including both PvE and PvP options, which means that some characters will be more useful than others in certain situations.
With that in mind, this article will only rank them on their general usability rather than doing separate lists based on the type of content.
Again, lists such as this one are purely subjective, so don’t get too mad if your favorites aren’t in the tiers that you want them to be in.
S-Tier
- Valentine – She can excel in pretty much any bit of content that you can slot her into due to her ability to give the whole team critical damage and chance buffs.
- Hanbyul Lee – She is an absolute monster in Arena Defense and she can buff allies and taunt enemies.
- Leo – He can be a great tank due to his ability to grant both evasion and invulnerability to his allies.
- Demiurge Stella – Can be really good once she reaches six stars, which is a significant investment.
- Mene – Possibly one of, if not the best healer in the game, specifically within PvE situations.
- Aer – Requires quite a bit of investment to get going, but can be absolutely strong due to her ability to gain an extra turn if hitting an enemy with no buffs.
- Notia – Really strong hero that can shut down healers with her ability to silence specifically those types of units.
- Demiurge Astei – Very strong area of effect damage and is great in both PvE and PvP content.
- Tamara – Very strong in the current meta, especially in Arena.
A-Tier
- Marian – She is particularly good against bosses and can stack curse on enemies. In addition to that, she can also inflict her opponents with reduced defense.
- Faenan – She’s a good healer overall that can boost priority and grant immunity to the entire team. She can be quite useful in almost any game mode.
- Cindy – She is particularly good at providing buffs to her team and increasing everybody’s damage potential.
- Tio – She is a really good healer that can also cleanse debuffs from allies and grant them barriers.
- Stella – She can steal buffs, lower priority, counter, and cleanse. Requires quite a bit of grinding and luck to actually get.
- Lyla – Another pretty good healer, she excels in defending or recovering against attacks that can target the whole team.
- Rin – A really good water damage dealer and just a good DPS character overall.
- Alice – She isn’t that great, but she goes in this tier solely due to her speed and ability to remove buffs from enemies.
- Noa – She is one of the best DPS characters in the game, even though recent updates nerfed her effectiveness a bit.
- Beth – Has pretty decent damage, but relies too much on bleed and may not be the best depending on your team.
- Veronica – Possibly one of the better tanks in the game, Veronica can provide her allies with a lot of defense and barriers.
- Laplace – She can be pretty good in both PvE and PvP, though she requires quite a bit of investment to really get going.
- Astei – She is a good healer, especially when paired with another healer (specifically the others in this same tier).
- Akari – One of the newest units in the game, Akari can inflict various status effects on enemies, including unbuffable.
B-Tier
- Dolly – She has great potential due to her debuffs, and while she excels in some bits of content, she is much less useful in others.
- Claire – She is a pretty good support unit, though you may need another one like her to supplement her single-target heals.
- Ritri – She’s a pretty average tank that has a passive ability that reduces all damage taken by allies.
- Saeran – She is another decent healer, and she has a chance of stripping debuffs from your team.
- Francesca – She has some pretty good single target damage, though her use cases are pretty niche.
- Maxwell – He has hard-hitting area of effect damage, though he is mainly good for PvE content.
- Eternal – Her ability to reduce enemies’ defense can be quite useful, though her use cases can be pretty niche.
- Christina – Pretty average and usable unit that unfortunately has no place in the current meta.
C-Tier
- Snow – She is pretty decent early on for beginners, though her usability does go down over time once you start getting better units.
- Iris – She’s pretty decent compared to the damage dealers in the bottom tier, but similar to Snow, her usefulness drops as you get better heroes.
- Rhona – Her skills look decent and she has the potential to be great, but her lack of speed puts her in a much lower tier.
- Idith – Despite her passive being a bit too reliant on RNG, she has niche uses and can be pretty decent in certain situations.
- Kate – This hero is a pretty good tank that can provide a lot of barriers and has the potential to stun enemies.
- Parti – She is not a particularly good damage dealer as her ultimate can be very unreliable.
- Fenrir – Can be pretty decent early on, but best avoided once you get better units.
- Eliza – Despite being buffed recently, she still does not perform well in the current meta.
- Sterope – Requires a significant investment to be usable. She can be skipped if you pull better heroes.
D-Tier
- K – Although you start the game with him as one of your very first characters, he’s absolutely abysmal in most content and should be replaced as soon as possible.
- Vera – Compared to other damage dealers, she is not particularly useful in most scenarios.
- Lisha – As a starter character, she is a pretty good damage dealer at the beginning of the game, but her buffs mainly affect herself and isn’t particularly useful once you progress further.
- Sofia – While she is better than most damage dealers on this tier, she requires you to invest in her quite a bit to be usable.
- Alpha – She has debuffs that may look good on paper, but are not particularly useful overall.
- Eva – Although she is low in this tier list, she is a hero that you start the game with and will be your best healer until you can pull for a better one.
- Lily – She has some serviceable debuffs, but her usefulness drops off quickly as you progress further into the game.
- Tanya – Deals pretty okay damage and can debuff and potentially stun enemies.
- Philia – Not particularly bad, but not necessarily a good hero either.
- Naru Kang – Pretty bad due to her gimmick of needing low HP in order to deal more damage. Definitely avoid this one if you can.
- Yuri – Not entirely bad early on, as she can increase the defense of your entire team, though she gets worse the more you progress.
- Laine – She has very niche uses and can be more useful than most of the other heroes on this tier.
- Adelie – She can do some okay-ish damage, but she requires too much investment to even be remotely good.
- Shu – Possibly one of the worst support characters in the game, despite having the ability to remove buffs from enemy targets.
- Pesketh – Can be useful in PVP, but he is otherwise pretty useless compared to most other heroes in other game modes.
- Bleu – Not particularly useful for most forms of content and has a pretty lackluster kit overall.
- Rico – Another one with a pretty lackluster kit and has a rather selfish healing ability. Just horrible overall.
- Guizam – He is just terrible and not really worth building no matter what.
- Flamberge – A slight upgrade over Eva as a healer, though his usability drops off once you get better alternatives.
- Orox – He has okay area of effect damage, but he isn’t particularly good overall.
- Sigma – Requires too much effort to get and isn’t really worth it once you can manage to get her.
And that concludes this character tier list for Outerplane. There are more upcoming characters in later updates, and balance changes may result in some of these units getting shifted around in future lists!
