Payday 3 provides unique challenges for players, even when they are playing the same heist. If you were to play the same heist all over again, you would notice that the map has shuffled around quite a bit. This can all cause confusion to players, especially if they are not familiar with how this mechanic works.
This same phenomenon is seen in the Rock the Cradle Mission when locating the IT Room. In this guide, we will show you how you can locate and enter the IT room for all the possible locations it can be. Let’s dive in.
How to Enter IT Room for Rock the Cradle Mission Guide
The IT Room tends to spawn in one of three locations in the Rock the Cradle Mission. You can easily figure out which one of these locations is the IT room, because you will see a guard standing in front of it.
However, entering the room is the bigger challenge as each possibility requires a different approach.

Locate the Red Keycard
The first thing you must do to enter the IT Room is to locate the Red Keycard. This Keycard is necessary to enter through the door, although in some possibilities you can bypass it. However, having it will always guarantee that you can enter the IT Room.
Start by going to the Red staircase, which has a red line along its path. It can be found in a corner of the large VIP area. The Staircase door also has an Accounting Office sign next to it.
Walk all the way up until you come across a Door which says Accounting Office. Be careful at this part as there will be a camera look at the door. When the camera looks away, lockpick the door and enter inside.
In the Accounting Office, you will need to look around for the Red Keycard, which can be anywhere inside.
Check the shelves, open the safe and locate the back closet, the Red Keycard is usually in all these places. Once you have the Red Keycard, you can get to entering the IT Room.
First Possible IT Room Location
The first possible IT Room location is the room that is right next to the door leading to the Red Staircase. You will know it’s the IT room if there is a guard standing next to it. There are two ways that you can enter this IT room and it is really up to you, which one you are comfortable with.
The first one is by distracting the guard and entering the IT room. Near the Red Staircase door, you will see a small table with a speaker. You can interact with this speaker as a lure and activating it with your phone will catch his interest and he will walk away from the door.
Make sure that you are prepared to lockpick the door. You don’t want him to catch you in the act when he’s done fiddling with the speaker. Enter inside and you will be able to see the IT room with a keypad that you can open with the Red Keycard.
The second way is by bypassing the guard entirely through a secret entrance. Go into the Red staircase and make your way up until you see a vent in the side. Open this vent and it will lead you directly into the IT room without you even needing the Red Keycard.
Make sure you are as quiet as possible as the guard in front of the IT Room is very sensitive to sound. When you are dropping down from the vent too, make sure you don’t create too much noise too.
Second Possible IT Room Location
The second possible IT Room location is in the same VIP area, but near the curving staircase that is on the opposite side of the hallway. You will be able to identify it with a guard standing in front of it and guarding the entrance.
You can get inside by first distracting the guard away from the door. Look nearby and you should be able to spot a speaker near the bar chairs. This speaker is a lure and activating it will distract the guard. However, there are quite a few people here, and even cameras that can spot you.
Therefore, you will need to be careful and activate the lure by crouching just underneath the lure. When the coast is clear, you can activate the lure and the guard will move away. Make sure the camera is looking away before you enter.
Additionally, be aware that a camera inside is also looking your way, so hide as quickly as you can. On the right, you will see the IT room with the keypad next to it. Swipe the Red Keycard on it and enter inside.
Third Possible IT Room Location
The third possible IT Room location is in the same large VIP area, but on the opposite end to the other possible IT Room locations. You will be able to identify it since there will be a guard standing there.
To get inside this IT room, you will actually need to forego the guarded door completely. Instead, turn left and make your way all the way to the end of the hallway. When you reach there, you will see a room with a lighted ‘Black Knight’ sign alongside some colorful playing card signs.
Enter inside this room and make your way to the door on the right. This leads to the kitchen and this place is guarded by a camera and a bouncer. At the end, right across the door at the end you will be able to spot the IT room door that you can open with your Red Keycard.
Before entering, you want to make sure that you have a clear path ahead. That means making sure the bouncer and camera is looking away. Sneak around in the kitchen area until you arrive at the IT room and use the Red Keycard to enter.
