Sometimes in video games, you can’t get everything when you reach the ‘end’ of it. Some games have post-game content that you can go through and Pikmin 4 is one of those games. While playing, you’ll find all sorts of Onions that you can get to grow different kinds of Pikmin and most of them you get through the story. There are some that you can only get afterwards though, and the Rock Onion is one of them.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to find the Rock Onion in Pikmin 4. Get ready for a fight and bring some bombs, because we’ll need all of that to get this one!
How To Find The Rock Pikmin Onion
The Rock Onion is one of the few Onions that you can only get after doing the first ending of the game. You’ll also need to use some bombs to access the area it’s in as well as defeat a boss that’s guarding it.
Here are the steps we’ll take to find the Rock Onion:
- Finish the game’s main story.
- Go to Giant’s Hearth and head to the southern most part of it.
- Use a Bomb to open the area.
- Defeat the Bulblax inside.
- Get the Rock Onion!

Detailed Walkthrough
First thing’s first, you’ll need to finish the game till you reach the ending. Once you’ve done that, you’ll want to go back to the Giant’s Hearth map. You’ll start somewhere to the western part of the map, and you’ll need to head towards the south shown on the image below.
There you’ll find a wall that you’ll need to blow up using bomb rocks. Once you’ve destroyed the wall, you’ll also have to fight the Bulblax inside the area.
After doing all of that, you can then go to the very back of the area where you’ll find the Rock Onion! Now, all you need to do is get a lot of Pikmins to carry it back to base. There’s a base point just outside the area to the northeast so you can move your base there.
