PlayStation Portal is this generation’s PlayStation Portable (or PlayStation Vita). It’s essentially a high-tech PlayStation Remote Play app, as you can play your PlayStation 5 remotely. That means you can pretty much play any PlayStation games while your PlayStation 5 is on.
However, there are some things the PlayStation Portal can’t do just yet, which is listening to music on Spotify. But how can you listen to your gaming playlist while playing? In this guide, I will show you how you can play music on your PlayStation Portal while playing games.
How to Play Music While Playing Games
As previously stated, apps like Spotify and even YouTube do not work on the PlayStation Portal device. It’s unknown why as of now, but it means that players are not able to use the apps to listen to music.
So, how can you listen to music on your PlayStation Portal? Use the web browser and open YouTube. However, you will need to send the YouTube link to yourself first. Simply sending yourself www.youtube.com is enough.
Once you have sent the link, open your messages and you will find the link. Open the link and you will be taken to YouTube. From there, simply play any song you want.
Now that you have music playing on YouTube, you will then need to pin the web browser to the side. To do that, simply press the Options button and a small box will appear on the bottom right.
Go down until you see the option Pin to Side. Press X and the web browser will be pinned to the side, allowing you to play games with the web browser on.
