Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has recently just released their Home Update that allows players to transfer Pokémon’s they have in their Pokémon Home storage to other games. That means the Hisuian Pokémon’s you have that are waiting for you can now be transported to the Paldea region. However, you will need to tweak them a little, as this is a new area for them. In this guide, I will show you the best Hisuian builds you can use for these Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Ursaluna Build

Ursaluna is one of the many Hisuian Pokémon’s that you can use in Scarlet and Violet. This Ground and Normal type Pokémon has high HP and Attack, making this Pokémon a one hitter quitter (if built correctly). Here is what you need to make this Pokémon hit hard:

  • Flame Orb – With the Flame Orb on, Ursaluna will be inflicted with Burn, which also halves the physical attack of a Pokemon. This will make sense as you read on.
  • Guts – This ability allows Ursaluna to get a 1.5x damage boost if inflicted with status ailments, like Burn. With the Flame Orb inflicting Burn on Ursaluna, Guts will not only receive a damage boost, but it will also ignore the side effect of Burn that halves the physical damage of the Pokemon.
  • Facade – STAB move; it’s great since the power is doubled if Ursaluna is inflicted with burn.
  • Headlong Rush – STAB move as well; Headlong Rush is a great move to have as it has high damage, but each use of this move will result in your Special Defense and Defense to decrease by 1. A great alternative to this move is Earthquake. While a tad weaker than Headlong Rush, it does not have side effects.
  • Drain Punch – As Ursaluna will be inflicted with burn during the whole fight, you will need to have some sort of healing method for them. Drain Punch is a great way to deal damage while also healing Ursaluna.
  • Belly Drum – This move is for those who want to gamble. Using Belly Drum will cut Ursaluna’s health by 50% in exchange for more attack power.

Samurott Build

Samurott is a Water and Dark type Pokémon with high stats in Attack, HP, and Speed. This Pokémon also specializes in attacks that can slice due to its Sharpness ability. Here’s what you need to get a good Samurott:

  • Scope Lens – Samurott will have two moves that does more damage if it can land critical attacks. With the Scope Lens, Samurott’s critical hit ratio is increased by 1 stage.
  • Sharpness – Any move that can do slice damage will have its damage increased by 1.5x.
  • Night Slash – STAB move, and one of the two attacks that deals more damage with Sharpness and has bonus chance to crit.
  • Aqua Cutter – STAB move as well, and like Night Slash, also deals more damage with Sharpness and has bonus chance to crit.
  • Sacred Sword – If your target does something that changes its stats like increased Defense and Special Defense, this move will ignore those stat changes and inflict the same amount of damage it would do if the target still had its base stats.
  • Swords Dance – This move raises Samurott’s attack by 2.

Typhlosion Build

Typholosion is a Fire and Ghost type Pokémon that has high stats in Special Attack and Speed. This Pokémon deals large amount of damage with special moves, which is the focus of this build for Typhlosion. Here’s what you need for this build:

  • Life Orb – This item makes the holder lose 1/10 of its max HP after an attack. However, the damage of the holder will increase by 1.3x.
  • Blaze – With the combination of the Life Orb taking away health from Typhlosion, Typhlosion can get more damage with its Fire attacks by 1.5x if Typhlosion has 1/3 or less of its HP. You will be sacrificing health for more power, basically.
  • Infernal Parade – STAB move. Despite being a Ghost-type move, Infernal Parade can still inflict burn with a 30% chance of success. If the target is already burned or has status conditions, however, this move’s damage will double in power.
  • Focus Blast – This move is really useful for covering Typhlosion’s Rock weakness.
  • Lava Plume – STAB move; this Fire type move will inflict burn with a 30% chance success, which synergizes well with Infernal Parade.
  • Calm Mind – If you want to get more damage for your already high Special Attack stat and get Sp. Defense as well, then you can use the Calm Mind move to do so.
